So with Logic X you are now able to use third party plugins as midi FX. Since I'm a big fan of these creative gems, I was wondering what third party plugins are out there. To my knowledge:
Xfer - Cthulhu
Xfer - Nerve (just released)
Kirnu - Cream
AudioCR - Capture Midi
AudioCR - Freeze Midi
If anybody could help me out with other MFX plugins, I would really appreciate it!

I have a bunch of stuff on my site(32 bit Windows plugins), midi converters which takes anything and outputs cc envelopes or whatever, midi compressors, sequencers, drum sequencers, wii to notes.
Xoxos has many good drum sequencers.
There hasn't been a whole lot of creativity in this area.

Xfer - Nerve (just released) is a drum machine and has been out for a number of years.Rfish wrote:So with Logic X you are now able to use third party plugins as midi FX. Since I'm a big fan of these creative gems, I was wondering what third party plugins are out there. To my knowledge:

Thesys by Sugar Bytes is great if a little too expensive compared to others.

I don't have Logic pro X but that could be what you're looking for.

MidiShaper would be a prime candidate to put out in Logic midifix format, which I'm gathering is not that hard to do.

Whats the difference between this and the regular Nerve ?Rfish wrote:Yeah I meant the Logic MFX format. It enables you to manipulate midi really easy. The Nerve MFX version just got released yesterday.

Nerve is of course an Instrument normally, loading samples and the simultaneous option for MIDI out. Logic traditionally doesn't support MIDI out from AU so IAC bus was the 'workaround'.Whats the difference between this and the regular Nerve ?
Now with the MIDI FX version of Nerve, you get MIDI out "directly" on the track - no routing needed, sample-accurate timing, just place it before the desired instrument and you're good to go!

If we are talking about stuff that works in Logic X - this one isn't out for OSX yet.
