actually think i have that issue,now i just need to find the disc.
come to think about it there was a freeware called something like a1studio stereospreader or something,cant check now.is that thing mono compatible

Waves Center will do just that.
If you are looking for other options you could try some other mid/side processes as well, but you would have to manage your own mono imaging via the use of a Correlation Meter, since these type of plugins won't do that for you. It shouldn't be much of a problem with mid/side though.
Equalisers like the H-EQ gives you the ability to manage both your mid and side signals allowing you to eq them separately. Then there are tools like Vitamin that will allow you to target more specifically where you want to add harmonic distortion to a signal.

Thread dig - are you guys sure the A1 is fully mono compatible? Have you tested it?
It certainly sounds more natural than JST Sidewidener (which is confirmed mono compatible).

you can buy an effect but i think the best trick is recording twice and panning out. like, the regular old school thing.
