What's up with iZotope?

Same happened to me. Says I've activated Iris 7 times. I've already sold it, and waiting on the license transfer. I think it may take them a while to get to it if they're sorting out the registration error with all the new users from the weekend sales.e@rs wrote:Tried to authorize my Trash 2 yesterday and got '(500) Internal Server Error'. 4 tries, no response file, but the activation counter says 'Trash 2 activated 4 times'. Should I laugh or cry?

Given the footnotes on their emails, lt looks like they are hiring a whole new crew of decision makers. I think there was probably a very noticeable fallout for them after the Ozone 6 reaming of the masses.
IMHO, there should still be some viability to Trash 2. I think they would be well served to keep that one alive. I can think of some improvements to Insight that would make it more convenient. Given that it's part of the Ozone advanced family, surely they will improve on that. It's a bit of a time consumer dropping the widget on each track individually, for starters. Then again, U-he's Satin is the same way. Not sure there's a universal solution possible across all DAW's I would guess.

so you have an ilok, but won't authorise the izotope? Let me cure your 2 fears about that right now.
If you authorise your ilok for any izotope plugin, you do NOT lose any of your normal non ilok auths. If you ever sell your izotope plugin, you do NOT have to pay the ilok transfer fee, as izotope simply send an automatic asset removal to your ilok account. Done.
So in my opinion, there is no logical reason not to at least have the ilok auth done and as an emergency backup. If there is, please explain, as i am curious.

Its on sale atm at Plugin Boutique %60 off plus 2 expansion packswaltercruz wrote:I paid $134.99 for Trash 2 on 2012 and sold it on kvr market some time ago. Still mis it and I would buy it again, but I'm broken
Except by something related with authorization with one of the Mac OS X updates, I never really had any issue with it or with Izotope Stutter Edit.

Really?!?! I have previously attached several of my iZotope licenses to my iLok account and I thought damn that was foolish, now I'll have to pay fees if I ever sell them.TheoM wrote: If you ever sell your izotope plugin, you do NOT have to pay the ilok transfer fee, as izotope simply send an automatic asset removal to your ilok account. Then why don't other companies do this instead of make money for iLok?MogwaiBoy wrote:Really?!?! Guessing that pace frowns upon it but still allow it because they have to? I assume they allow developers to do that in case their licenses are stolen or purchased fraudulently and they need to revoke assets. However, they like to charge fees because they're a business and that's how they make money?malachy5 wrote:Then why don't other companies do this instead of make money for iLok?MogwaiBoy wrote:Really?!?! I saw John Lehmkuhl of PluginGuru suggest that BreakTweaker is gonna see an update soon, since it's been going for dirt cheap these last few sales, and apparently they'd want as many people to have it as possible before any updates. I can only hope he's right - my dream is that BT will update both BreakTweaker and Stutter Edit (to which he's added a whole bunch of spectral algorithms since its release) ahead of the release of his Phobos plugin with Spitfire later this year.

I used Trash2 just the other day on my 808 kicks. It made them ring out in ways I loved. I think the plug is still relevant. I would rather a plug live 4/5 years than have several version of insignificant updates. So I'll take it. I have yet to experience any bugs with any of my iZotope products.

yep, i'm certain. I got this from izotope themselves, and they have auto surrendered 2 licenses for me so i could sell them on.
Celemony does this too.. I wanted to remove my ilok auth so i could go back to computer based auth, and they sent a simple ilok removal asset.

It's manual work, and most won't do it. Anyone *can* though.. but whether ilok charge any license fee for it i don't know. it could be that izotope just are very gracious about it.malachy5 wrote:Then why don't other companies do this instead of make money for iLok?MogwaiBoy wrote:Really?!?! That's pretty cool then. I like that they gave a choice to go normal auth or iLok, I chose normal to avoid iLok fees but the if they go to the trouble to avoid their users getting stung by iLok fees then that is a great approach.TheoM wrote:It's manual work, and most won't do it. The same here, it's exciting to see both using today's technology. Both were ahead on it's time. I also would like to see Trash 3 with a modern twist.BetaAltairVII wrote:my dream is that BT will update both BreakTweaker and Stutter Edit
