I don't think it will be able to remove shakers without suppressing everything behind it like high-hats and the treble from brass sections that is in the background of the song.

If you remove the kick drum.
You lose the low frequency transient of the bass-line.

I think the idea is to isolate the drums, rather than remove them from a mix. You end up with a drum break (in theory).
Something like MashTactic is probably more useful for isolating, vocals, shakers, etc.

What do you think about the audio examples here http://yellownoiseaudio.com/ ?

Not great. They have a very degraded, phasey sound.

If I absolutely had to extract the drums out of a mix for some reason, this seems to do a reasonably good job (ie better than nothing). If I wanted to extract the drums so I could sample them or use them in a different mix, then it's not so good.
A bit fried in the higher freqs

No demo? That's something you should think about. I don't think i have seen you as a developer before so i am unsure if i should throw money your way.

Does the drums contain high harmonics from melodic instruments?

@loopdon: I will think about this.
About my references as a developer: I made http://www.samplerbox.org before. See for example this SonicState article or this MusicRadar article or this RaspberryPi official blog article.

Hey, i will give that a read.
You will surely get a lot more interest if you do some form of not to crippled demo.
This might be task in itself.

I absolutely don't doubt your abilities coding-wise but if you want people to get interested
you might want to think about the PR side of things a bit more :phones:

I have now bought the:
(DrumExtract VST).

And guess what?
The isolated drums contains pitched instruments such as high pitched synth lead parts.

I simply wanted it to able to remove all drums from the mix without removing the highest harmonics from synth instruments.
But that is impossible.

The examples sound much better than i expected. You can hear some sparse phasing here & there but it's hardly disturbing and the drums retain a lot of their body. Really nice.

I'm interested. Though, respectfully, i feel €50 is too much. I can't see myself buying it anytime soon.[
