AAR keeps loading init program when opening somebody elses songs

Hey, I'm mixing & mastering somebody's album, he uses AAR in almost every project. I never used it before but I just bought it to be able to open his Logic projects.
So after the install, whenever I open one of his Logic files AAR comes up with the init program and not that guys setting.
He told me he's got version 1.5xx and just goes through presets, slightly changes them and just stores the logic song.
Shouldn't AAR then open his setting on my computer?
I just tested this with an empty logic song and here it works, but why not in the guy's songs?

my setup:
MBPr
OSX 10.9.2
Logic 9.1.8 in 32bit
AAR latest version
