what do you want me to do? beg? less of my words, more of your time saved.scoobz wrote:manners don't cost a thing, especially when you're asking for helpniewysoki wrote:How to make guitar sound like that?:

Just cause you think it hurts you, it doesn't mean it really does. It's just your mental concept of you being hurt by lack of my manners.

If you mess up the intonation of the guitar it can sound a bit wrong, like that audio example.niewysoki wrote:How to make guitar sound like that?:

actually neither chorus nor vibrato give this kind of effect. maybe they do with some particular settings but although I tried much, I can't figure them out. Please

Record one track, then another when you have finally tuned the guitar. I get this effect by laziness and accident all the time . Faulty cheap non-locking tremolo systems on cheap guitars can also add to this effect, and you don't even have to be using them.

Listened t that clip: it's a guitar with frets. I do hear a subtle delay effect though. Slight repositioning of fingers added with the delayed notes may give the effect you seek.

Try bouncing it to a f'd up magnetic tape. Even better, to a cassette tape, preferably one that has seen better days. Seriously.
Or, you might try and find a plugin that can emulate tape / vinyl warble or wow and flutter. Izotope Vinyl used to be free and can do similar things...
You could also run it through a delay with time set to zero, wet only, and then modulate delay time, ever so slightly, with some sort of random lfo.
Or, if your guitar is equipped with a tremolo, you could try recording the part with the tremolo arm in your hand all the time, warbling it randomly and discretely while you play.
Hope it helps.
(BTW, a very similar guitar sound can be heard on Boards of Canada's Chromakey Dreamcoat song, off the Campfire Headphase record. And it's been mentioned on the interwebz that they use tape manipulation a lot. I wouldn't know for sure, but it sure sounds like it.)
EDIT: Obviously, that will only get you closer to the ballpark regarding the audible warbling effect, then you'll have to play around with amps, compression and degradation which can also be heard in the example. Unless you decide to go ahead and try bouncing to a dirty old cassette tape - that will probably take care of the sound degradation aspect, too

It sounds like it is aniewysoki wrote:How to make guitar sound like that?:

Semi-hollow body guitar (or elec acoustic)
A hint of analog distortion
Tape delay (a cheap way to get that is the Two Timer pedal from BBE)
Little bit of slap back reverb may also get you a similar vibe
It also sounds like a 10 inch speaker.
I'm 100% wrong probably, but I know I can get similar tones from the setup I listed above.
