im trying to recreate this song's distorted lead but i cant get anywhere near it.

I am currently using massive to do it but i find that the distortion in massive in quite"dry".

Any tips for getting this distorted sound??? I have ni komplete 9 fyi

Guitar amp + high resonance on input.

You'll want to add an impulse response of a mic'ed speaker cabinet after your distortion if you find it too dry. That can add a guitar like quality to most anything. (I didn't listen to your clip. You should try the sound design forum if you need a specific sound)

Voxengo boogex is amazing for "guitarifying" synths.

Is there anything distorted - I just hear a somewhat modulated saw as lead.
A doubler or chorus on a good lead sound - or heavy unison helps too.

But a toolbox for distortion could be Izotope Trash as one specialized in that.
Magix Vandal is one I'm curious of if to go ITB for guitar amps again.

Lead tone, if for guitar - is a science by itself. A lifetime to master that one.

Komplete 9 gives you access to Guitar Rig..
it sounds like a stabby saw with a short release time to me..try running guitar rig fx distortions through an fx send
