Keys to this vibe: (Angie Stone: Stay for a while)

How to do this, that and the other. Share, learn, teach. How did X do that? How can I sound like Y?

Hey!

I'd like to get your (humble) opinion on how the overall vibe of the song "stay for a while" by "angie stone" is created in all differen respects eg, when it comes to composing, mixing etc.

For example: Is the mix indicative of tape qualities or tube or vice versa, etc.
Also the approach to composing plays a huge role , what do you think are key elements or things to focus on?

I'm sure that it is a complex thing with no definite answer possible (after all it's art), but a general brainstorm would be nice.

Cheers!

JM
