Hi,
Could anyone help me recommend a good quality Mic for vocal duties, for between $80 - $150?
It's for a friend to do voicovers, and she could possibly go to about $200 at a squeeze.
Any advice much appreciated.

Audio technica is a good bang for your buck brand. That would be a good place to start searching.

don't spend more than you want to. nowadays you'd have to put in work to misuse a mic to make it sound bad. eg. the cheap electret capsules have excellent charateristics as transducers if you don't crap it with their sensitivity.

The 990 from MXL has been a long time favorite of mine. If they want to upgrade a few years down the road they can send it to Michael Joly via OktavaModShop.
