This has been a busy month, but here is my entry before I forget! This was a fun track to mix. The bass posed a bit of a challenge, and so was the kick. I added a bit of transient to the kick, and high passed the bass to get more definition and to give more space to the kick, hopefully without losing too much low end. I gave the hats more width as well, and there is a lot of sparkle in them that I think carried the track really well. Thanks CompyFox for organizing and Action Cat for providing a great track to work with. Hope your rapper friend has fully recovered.

I have mixed this song too. I liked it but I have made so many undoes and redoes that I have to give my ears a break of days. Then recheck and deliver. I have got it close to my taste/style.

I liked the song. Had hard time with bass, kick and snare.
I tried to remove some bass and keep it consistent.

I attempted to mix the bass and kick twice before I got it to this by taking the third approach. Bass has some added Float Crush for ear candy, might not fit the style tho. I tried to leave some room for a vocal, there's gentle compression and limiting on the master track. Thanks for the interesting track to mix!

I thought I'd better get in on this one

A relatively simple song but fairly difficult to get good separation on all the elements. I separated the voices for effect along with separating the Toms for more control and a better stereo spread. All in all, a pleasure to mix. Hope you enjoy it!

I uploaded to Dropbox this time rather than using Soundcloud. I like the way you can play and download the file directly from this page using Soundcloud, but I read some members were having a problem there. These files are still downloadable.

I would say it feels like before I got the problem. I did 3 mixes in the meanwhile. MC25 and one of Mike Senior's great site just for training, and now MC26. Yeah, I think it's all OK again

cool Track, my mix went a bit in the TripHop direction i think ...and maybe i was a litte to playful ...but nothing new added, all additional pingels and pongels come from effects.
