Question specific to Crest Factor mix/mastering

How to do this, that and the other. Share, learn, teach. How did X do that? How can I sound like Y?

Can somebody give me their "opinion" on what a generally acceptable ball park crest factor is good to shoot for in say, a pop, rock or Hip hop mix both "before" and "after" mastering?
Not really interested in back and forth debates about whether or not that's what I should be looking at it's important vs rms vs lufs etc. This is for those who do watch the crest factor when mixing and mastering please.

I think around -15dBRMS is decent before a loudening master, -11 to -9dBRMS after.
