Turning muting and un-muting whole tracks with MIDI on the fly

Hi. I'd really like to know if I could un-mute and mute multiple different tracks using a keyboard on and production software (preferably logic pro). So I could press a key and the sound would be audible and let go and it would stop. The sound would also keep going so it would stay in time with the rest of what is going on when playing live.
