Are they any good though? - the link just gives me a pack of 90 but is there somewhere I can see a description of them and select the better ones?

Thanks for the headup on that one :D

I have succeeded in making it all work perfectly and it is amazing stuff. I have been running a mixture of Vstis, vsts, Dxis, Dxs and Ladspas as well as a winamp and an Mfx plug all together in cantabile 1.2 and all this is very stable and trippy :)

I have noticed that there is another of those shell vst in the package for Buzz for Buzz and it's called dmovst. It allows for using and creating individual wrappers for the DirectX FXs like the Tobybear DMO plugs do but with another UI.

BTW if someone experience problems for creating the individual wrappers with an error message saying "cannot write to target" from the shell2vst executable like happened to me, then just move this shell2vst to another location such as C:\ and try again 8) (only problem I encountered actually but did not resolve it for months until yesterday :hihi:)

I wish the winamp wrapper could become a so-called shell vst as well so that individual wrappers could be created for those plugs also.

Actually I'd also love to see a VST wrapper for winamp visualization plugins in case anyone hears me...

Polac is obviously the man who could do us a solid buzzmachine2vst wrapper but this would cost quite a bit of dosh as I understand and there has never been a penny around for it unfortunately :(

Anyway thanks for the headup again and have great fun with those. Top stuff.

LMMS comes with lots of ladspa plugins included and then there is the mentioned ladspa pack from audacity.

I did that one too, but it's even more crashy than the other winamp wrappers(and quite useless of course too :))

Just wanted to say thanks so much for these wrappers. Very happy to see that this project is being looked after. :)

The man himself heard me :D Thanks for replying :)

No it's not useless :)

Would you consider making it available for download ? :)

I've made notes in this post:

http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=251759

Trying to get Symphonic Choirs to load into EnergyXT and/or Tracktion.

Here's where it gets weird:

The SC/Play/WordBuilder will load into ext with mfxshell.dll in place, and will play audio through the sequencer. It just won't render to disk.

In Tracktion, the Play_vst won't load directly - I have to wrap it into another instance of Ext_Vst. It will render, but really reeallly badly - the notes are shortened and the wrong words come out.

Ext is close - oh, so close......ideas?

polac wrote:Hi all,

I decided to release these wrappers to public now, as freeware. Perhaps they are of use for someone :).

They are very useful for running 32 bit DX plugins in a 64 bit host through jBridge or Sonar's bitbridge.

Unfortunately, some of Cakewalk's plugins are tied to Sonar, and when wrapped with DXshell won't run.

Noel Borthwick, Cakewalk's CTO has offered help in getting the "handshake" between DXshell and the host working, if polac is interested in updating this:

Hi everyone! I'm trying Cubase 5, and I'm having trouble using the dxshell, please help
I do all the procedure recommended: Unrar, throw the dxshell.dll into shell2vst, then move the DX folder to my vstplugins folder, and everything is fine! The problem is, everytime I restart my computer the effects won't load up correctly anymore in cubase... It seems the shell/interface of the effects doesn't work, all that shows up when I select an insert effect from the DX list is a little bar...
Please, any ideas?
Thanks

i know that DirectX plugins are Windows only

..but is it possible to use a wrapper so that the DirectX plugin can be used on mac?
