How hard can this be?
Have installed M4L but I can't see it in plug-in devices or live devices.
How do I even open the thing?

Once installed you should have Max Instrument, Max MIDI Effect and Max Audio Effect under Live Devices. If you haven't restarted since installing try that, I believe when I did it prompted me to update my content.
Anyway, you just double click on that for a starter module (I think they are all the same at that point) or expand for actual instruments.

Fixed. Had to refresh my Licenses at Startup.
