I've already switched to Live 9 64bit beta.

If you have a registered Live 8 you can now download the live 9 beta and run it till Live 9 is on sale.

Is this where you have to request that beta on Thursdays or something like that?

Thats the beta links for 8, if you want to sign up for the 9 beta thats here:
https://www.ableton.com/en/beta-signup/

They've loosened up a bit and it looks like its been open for a while now. So I dont think its a one-day a week thing anymore, must want to start getting as many people in as possible now

I'm liking the new EQ in live 9 You can drag the points around on the spectrum or use the knobs below. Seven track mix uses all four cores of the the i7 and all four virtual cores so it's fully multithreaded.

are you sure you not running multi-thread/core/etc aware instruments? At least on the x32 Im still only seeing 4 in use, not that it matters since you dont get much gain from hyperthreading in these cases anyway. Its why they never really pushed to implement it until people started complaining just to shut em up

Did another test with 8 tracks of U-he ACE put Slate digital FG-X , VTM, VCC over them all to get the CPU up. Performance monitor shows all 8 cpus with roughly the same load over 50% each.

OS Win 8 Pro 64bit
DAW Live 9 64bit beta
8 tracks U-he ACE multicore mode off

yea i think its specific to diva, maybe its still doing some multicore stuff even with it off. I see the same here in 64 or 32, with diva all threads get used, however do the same test with some sort of intensive operator pad preset and I only see 4 in use
