That's exactly what I do and I also use either Harmony or the free Musescore.

I much prefer to use the midi notation I pick rather than a package someone else has forced on me.

You might not be happy with what you get....

Creates a MIDI file of the take on your hard drive and references it in the project, as if it were an audio file. But it's MIDI.

I assume it goes in your project folder. Dunno, I'm not using that command really. :oops:
