It was a company back in the day.It also made a 16 track midi sequencer that ran on the Commodore 64 computer. It had a break out box which connected to the C64 which contained a midi interfaceelwoodblues1969 wrote:What is Jelinghaus?According to Google,it's a programmer for the Yamaha DX7...risome wrote:Its an unusual thing in the evolution of DAWs this Bitwig.I started on a C64 with Jelinghaus then moved to Cubase on Atari and saw Creator/Notator evolve into Logic and switched from Cubase on Mac to Ableton when it first appeared.Ableton grew and evolved where as Bitwig is "going to be " boom almost complete and evolved from the get go. Just saying

Hehe ... Last day of Summer is Sept. 22nd.
But, my wild guess is it won't be out until.... Halloween, 2013 (Oct. 31st) = FALL

Is there an equivalent to the football transfer deadline for DAWs?

Good call! Push is possibly the best hardware investment I've made in years. If Bitwig comes out running with a lot of great stuff the Abes will match it.vastarray wrote:Yes. It was last month when I dropped a grand on Ableton instead of waiting any longer.

So then...when Bitwig hits the shelves,Ableton will magically come up with simultaneous 32/64 support & crash protection?C-note wrote:Good call! Seems to me,that since no one up until now,has ever conceived of such features, that Bitwig has the proprietary technology and the exclusive rights to it.
What's the thinking here...that because some people are tired of waiting for Bitwig, that somehow,Ableton is now an acceptable door prize to Bitwig and that eventually,Ableton is going to offer everything that Bitwig will?
Aside from some graphical similarities & so forth, how is Ableton an acceptable alternative to the features of Bitwig, that sets it apart from every other host?
