Simpler doesn't do multisamples.Ogopogo wrote:You have to buy Live suite to get sampler, but "simpler" comes with standard live. Sampler is simpler with extra features, one of which is lfos. Bitwig's sampler comes with 3 lfos and does multisamples. Simpler does multisamples too though.
Edit. Oh you said "multiout" I dunno about that. In what way do you mean multiout, like loading different libraries like kontakt?
There is also the drum machine in bitwig just like lives drum racks. It's basically the same setup.
Bitwig price, release date announced

It wasn't me that wrote that by the way.kev2525 wrote:From the press release yesterday...firepile wrote:Are you sure Bitwig includes a step sequencer?kev2525 wrote:kennyda wrote:The step sequencer is another thing that i'd like to see. I dunno, I don't have Kontakt. How can I test this for you?Guenon wrote:There will be no support for multiple outputs of VST plugins in Bitwig 1.0? Meaning, one can't output multiple stereo output signals into the Bitwig mixer from one Kontakt instance, for example? At least reading posts from a while ago seems to confirm this. Is this still the case, or has the feature been added recently?
If it indeed isn't supported at the moment, does anyone (of the testers around here?) know the status of multiout VST routing in the upcoming 1.x updates? Is it, like, definitely planned and upcoming, or is it a "maybe at some point" thing?
edit, ok I see the post that comes after, so it's planned for V2.

Try the free TX16Wx, it also supports multiple outputs.

Visual EQ (I use my ears, but I am used to get some visual feedback)
MultiOut VST

thats what I remember just now, and I am sure the list goes on..
This may be a minor complaint as it isnt entirely a deal breaker as you can use 3rd party plugins like Fabfilter EQ and many other EQ plugins...
I was thinking I'd use Span for that. It's free. I like it because it will tell you pitch. I tend to use ApQalizr for general EQing because it has a nice visualiser,

I am totally surprised that now that we have price and release date there has been no mention of a pre-order.
Not to sound disrespectful but they need some help in the marketing/sales department.
Again, not to sound disrespectful but I just don't get their strategy.....super long time to develop (which I applaud them for) , great features , release date, prices, etc ....but still no way to get revenues into the company.
Just seems strange to me. Don't know what it all means and do not wish to speculate, but just does not seem like the behavior of most companies.
Does this strike anyone else as odd?

odd that they havent started selling a product before it even has a demo? no not really.
if they where a company with a proven track record doing that may work, but as a first product i doubt many people would jump in before a demo

The first part of your statement holds a lot of validity vurt, but I respectfully disagree with the second.vurt wrote:odd that they havent started selling a product before it even has a demo? no not really.

Reading the multiple threads around I think a huge number of folks can't wait to make this buy.
I certainly agree a demo is needed and think one will be available soon. But that does not mean one will be availble prior to the ability to purchse; case in point, Sonar X3 (although, yes, they have a track record established.)
Given what we know about BWS I'm not sure they need a track record. I mean the reports of usability from the beta testers, the vids and such coming from NAMM, etc., I think they have already established a fan base. Now these fans just want the software.
I can't say I am a fan but from what I've seen, I'm fairly well sold. Just a couple of issues keeping me on the fence.

Just let those guys pass the NAMM and recover..
I do not think they require presales actualy..it just creates random buyers who might gonna sell it afterwards because it doesn`t fit their preferences..then it`s better to let the folks demo it before buy it imo..

Actually it does, one just can't edit them with it ... If you load a multisample into it (for example, edit a multisample in Sampler and then switch Sampler -> Simpler), it says "Multisample Mode" in Simpler's waveform field and it functions, just not zone editable etc.kennyda wrote:Simpler doesn't do multisamples.

The BWS Sampler is both in one: If you just drag one sample on it or on an empty slot of the drum machine (which creates an instance automagically), it acts like a one-shot-sampler with a very simple GUI.Guenon wrote:Actually it does, one just can't edit them with it ... If you drop multisamples on it (or rightclick "convert to multisample" on a single sample), you get the full blown/full screen sampler that isn't quite as deep as Lives Sampler but pretty nice for a factory device IMO.
For more involved stuff, Kontakt or something similar makes more sense IMO anyway
Cheers,
Tom
