Mac users continue to be able to use the beta of the 'wrapped' version of FL Studio that Image-Line launched last year, but this has its limitations (OS X Audio Unit and VST plugins won't run in it, for a start.

The good news is that the company is working on a better Mac solution: "We are developing a native OS X version. We hope to have some betas by the end of the year," says Jean- Marie Cannie.

Cannie also says that Mac versions of some of Image-Line's plugins are being worked on, with the Harmor synth likely to be the first conversion.

A Mac Harmor would be very welcome

I'm psyched - FLS and various FL-only plugs I've bought over the years have lain dormant since I switched to Mac. Now there's light at the end of the tunnel!

Fantastic. I love FL but have been Mac only for years now. I tried the wrapped beta but a real version will be so much better.

I wouldn't mind at all.

That vector-only UI looks great.

The wrapped version was a nice try but it seemed like it would never be ready for prime time.. This is great since IL had indicated for years that hell would gage to freeze over before there would ever be a Mac version :)

It was only a matter of time. They've probably been mulling this over for years now and it would make sense to coordinate it with the 64-bit and GUI overhaul. I bet this port hasn't been easy, but the Mac platform is the largest untapped potential market for Image-Line that isn't already pretty well saturated and OSX isn't going anywhere soon. I've had an FLStudio license for years, but it's been at least 5 since I've used it last. I'll definitely revisit it when the Mac version finally drops. I bet thousands of others will too.

I wonder if the free lifetime upgrades will apply to a new Mac version? Hope so, i've missed it since moving to a Mac. :(

Would be nice, but I wouldn't be the slightest bit upset if they charged for it. The cost was never high to begin with and FLStudio is way more powerful now than it was back when I first bought it.

It's a lot of work, I would not begrudge them at all for charging a fee of some sort.

And if they don't, they would gain a lot of respect.
Not that they need it. It would fit in their upgrades-for-life policy though.

That it would. I doubt that their userbase has that many Mac users either, I don't think there were that many beta testers.

HOLLY CRAP! YES! HARMOR :'D

I find it interesting that most of the responses on this thread are from some real KVR old-timers, myself included, from 2002-2004. Are we old enough to realize this is like hell freezing over, based on how adamant IL have been on the subject over the years?
