Halionsonic2, Kontakt, Ozone5 (!) .....) and running in Performance mode also solves that 30% Windows cpu/99 % Asio load Problem. Because the auxhost.exe processes are outside from cubase and will be distributed reasonable on the cores and asio load will fall down.

No problems with stability so far, i even tested a big Project to see if i can lower the latency .
So I take it, that C7 just has a funked up CPU core distribution?
Which could also clear why the x64 version works better(!) smoother than the x86 version. But if jBridge can still tickle a tad more out of it... then we have the culprit to most C7 problems.

I really, really have to retry that again. Unfortunately, jBridge only covers up until VST2.x, not VST3.
Seems like Cubase 7.5 (from 7 on maybe..) has a weird distribution. You can have 1 Core occupied and the other cores are doing nothing , but asio load is going towards red (huh?) . Some guys from recording.de reported this as well. Seems to happen if you have 1 midi track and a plugin loaded like kontakt with big samples. If you continue to work with more midi tracks, the distribution starts. Maybe some guys are making big eyes because they have an Intel core i7.

Afaik as i worked with Cubase Sx3 i could squeeze everything out of the processor and asio load. Now in C7 seems like only 1 kontakt (or another sample based plugin) is enough to destroy your asio load.

Another thing Steinberg should introduce is real gui Hardware acclereation. Hell even Google Browser does it, why not accelerate the mixer and Project window f.e.?

7.5, 7, 6, 5, 4 ... it has always been this way

Well... I can at least see that the processing power is distributed over several cores in my case. But that still doesn't clear why the ASIO usage is so drastically higher in C7 than with earlier Cubase versions. Especially at low latency.

Then again, I think I talked enough about that by now.

Hello petersmizzx,

Does this happens to you all the time, on all your projects?
On what operating system are you, and what Cubase version do you have, is it 7.5.20?
Also, what graphics card do you have?
This never happens to me, but I am on a Mac, has anyone else seen this on a Mac, I assume it is a PC only problem.
Have you tried deleting the preferences of Cubase 7 and any other version of Cubase that you might have installed?
Updating the drivers of your graphics card?
Have you contacted our support?

Best regards,

Hi Guillermo, thanks for your reply.
Does this happens to you all the time, on all your projects?
Yes, even empty ones on freshly installed win 7 ultimate with nothing installed but the OS and Cubase 7.5.20
Also, what graphics card do you have?
The mighty Sparkle geforce 7600 gt 256MB
This never happens to me, but I am on a Mac, has anyone else seen this on a Mac, I assume it is a PC only problem.
I came across an animated gif of version 7.0 displaying the same problem when it first came out. When I installed v7.0 I had the same problem. It was the single reason I didn't bother using V7. Then I 'upgraded' to v7.5 only to discover that for me at least the problem remains.
Have you tried deleting the preferences of Cubase 7 and any other version of Cubase that you might have installed?
Of course, its become a natural reflex now. Fire up Cubase get everything just right and then delete the preferences file and start all over again.
Updating the drivers of your graphics card?
Yes and I also like Farleys rusks :hyper:
Have you contacted our support?
No time for debugging this month I'm afraid.

I have no issues with Cubase other than the mixer. At the moment I am on scoring assignment so my head is firmly in Sibelius and I only need produce .sib files, so its not as if I'm frothing at the mouth. I'll wait till 8.

Strange, because this bug was noticed with the 7.0.2 update.
A fresh install of Cubase should fix it, have you tried installing Cubase 7.5 from the full installer on our website?

http://www.steinberg.net/en/support/dow ... se_75.html

Please try this instead of installing Cubase 7.0.0 and then updating to 7.5

Ok, a quick thing to try...

Top right, drop-down Functions menu button -> choose 'Reset MixConsole Channels' (this takes things to a known default state). Any more funky business with your F3...?

Good luck,

Thanks for the suggestion. I have the same issue as petersmizzx. Unfortunately, this option doesn't solve anything on my system.

hi, is it simply a case of downloading the file and running it? ie no uninstall of the original programme? I have Cubase 7.5 loaded on this machine when it was built for me so I'm a bit hazy on the technicalities - I have the box and dongle of course.

If you want to install the update " Cubase 7.5.20" you do not need to uninstall the application.
The installer will update your current Cubase 7.5 installation to the latest update.
If you want to do a fresh install you will have to uninstall Cubase 7.5 from your control panel and then proceed to install the application again either from your DVD or the full installer on our website.
