It seems strange that SMS2013 was OK but SMS 2014 is causing these problems. Have you tried the DPC latency checker to see if anything is amis?

Also I found this video useful for tweaking Windows 8

Thank you Kraznet!

I did like say and change setting like video. Now performance is better.

But...

Still same issue with ASIO. :scared:

Do you have the latest Asio drivers for your soundcard?

Are you getting lost ASIO buffers when these crackles occur? there is normally a message at the bottom right-hand corner. Also try pressing Y when SMS 2014 is open. If the Easy Setup page opens click on the advanced button at the bottom left-hand corner. Then make sure the "multi-CPU setup with core count " tick box is ticked and try putting 3 or 4 in the box . I think your CPU is limited to 4 as I don't think it has hyper threading. Also check the buffer size. Samplitude can get a bit picky sometimes as anything below 256 samples.

Enter a value in the "Multi CPU Support with Core Count" box. 8 Will give you 4 physical core plus 4 hyperthreaded cores I believe. Although I tend to enter 6 as it leaves a bit spare for the OS.

Although as a footnote I'm not 100% sure that Samplitude Music Studio supports hyperthreading because of the limitation of 8 in the box. It could be just 8 physical cores. But you will be able to tell when you open the task manager if all your cores are being utilised.

thanks for your reply kraznet,
i don´t feel any diference in dsp when i fill with 6 or 8 cores, dsp values remains too high. with each one of these selected the values are similar
can you explain that?

Is that 54% when sitting idle ? What VSTi's are you using? If you're using Asio4All can I presume you are using the built in sound of the computer motherboard?

It shouldn't be using that much DSP. It could be down to the fact that you using the built in soundcard. I would need to install SMS 2015 and download the Blue 2 demo in order to replicate your set up to test. I have a similar CPU to you 4770K with Windows 8.1. Give me a bit of time so I can test. Have you tried any other DAW's as a comparison?

Also did you try the Magix Low Latency driver instead of Asio2All?

I created Blue 2 project using 5 tracks There's a definite difference when Multi CPU is enabled. I entered 6 and the CPU usage went from 28% to about 12%. Using Asio4All with either internal sound of my Gigabyte Mobo or NVidia HD audio of my graphics card. Similar performance in Samplitude Pro X2. Can you send me the test project then I can check as I'm that different Blue 2 patches use different amounts of CPU.

Try playing this attached SMS 2015 project. It uses about 10-12% cpu with 6 cores of multi processing enabled.
