Is there anyway to view a sound file's (wav, aiff etc etc) BPM prior to "dragging n' dropping" it in my session view?
Its annoying when looking for certain files to match the BPM of what I'm working at.
Thanks in advance!

Nope! Only in the clip view when it's loaded. Why not tag your files in advance? wavefile_130bpm.wav or something?

You can certainly put the BPM of any file in the file name to view BPM when looking at the file in Live's browser, or put the files into folders organized by tempo.
Live will play back files you select in the browser at project tempo, and you can warp a file once bringing it into live for whatever precision you'd like.

well, i imported like 2-3000 samples off a hard drive and id say 90% of them aren't labeled a bpm, so I'm trying to go through them and add to their name what bpm they are. but theres SOOOOOOO many!! ugh…
thanks anyway, guys!

Lol! For sure with that many samples it doesn't make any sense to try and tag. Have you looked for any apps that could do it automatically?
