Hi Kalamata Kid,

nerds.de have a dedicated download page for their products, including LoopBe1:
http://www.nerds.de/en/download.html

And yes: There will be a black/cyber sale :). It will probably start tomorrow.

VariKusBrainZ: You speak of the Bitwig touch user interface, right?

All the best,
Hauke

Hello Hauke,

I finely installed Xotopad. Wow! it is re-sizeable! I am still working on learning it. I opened in Bidule because it is easier test it.

I opened up a second Xotopad but it would not work nor close. Is it ok to open a second Xotopad. Would be nice to be able to choose any midi channel out.

Unfortunately as far as I can tell that LoopBe1 only has one midi out. Too bad!

Hi Kalamata Kid,

nice to hear back from you :)

Running two instances of XotoPad:
You will have to do this:
  • Open explorer, go to the XotoPad installation directory (usually C:\Program Files (x86))
  • Make a copy of the XotoPad folder
  • Copy it to the desktop or another place where you have full user rights (I tried to create a copy called "C:\Program Files (x86))\xotopad_2", but I couldn't save files then - but maybe this works for you)
  • Now you can open one XotoPad instance from the original installer location and one instance from the copied folder (you can also save different setups separately this way)
Choose any MIDI channel out:
Maybe I don't get your point here. You can already choose a different MIDI channel for each pad when you click on "Edit -> Edit pad". Or do you speak of something else?

LoopBe1 / one MIDI out:
The guys behind nerds.de also sell a version with more than one MIDI channel. However, XotoPad only supports one MIDI output device, so this wouldn't help much here.

Hi,

You can use Loop MIDI instead :
http://www.tobias-erichsen.de/software/loopmidi.html

It supports more than one virtual port and, for me, is more stable than Loopbe (no feedback problem), and is free.
So you can have different ports for each Xotopad instance ;-)

acousmod,

Thanks for the suggestion,

I installed Loop midi
http://www.tobias-erichsen.de/software/loopmidi.html
and it does not show up in Bidule and in Xotopad.
Yes I rebooted! It is enabled in Start Up.

Perhaps Virtual Midi would be better?

Tried XotoPad and Xotopad instance #2 works but cannot change the output channel for all the keys on #2. At the moment this is not a priority but having a second or more Xotopad instances will be useful at some time in the future.

Sorry about my comment about the midi channel. Loopbe will output any channel it receives.

By the way I am getting to learn to use XotoPad and am becoming happier that I have it with each new discovery I make. :D Yes I should check out the videos. Are there any?

Do you have added some ports in the loopmidi panel ?
There must be an icon in the task bar.
If no, it is normal that you cannot see any port yet.
If yes, well, I don't know...

Great, thanks :) !
At the moment there are no videos except the one at the beginning of this thread.

But you can find the manual here:

Oh, that "+" that's what it's for!
Thanks. Got Loop Midi working.
Loop Midi will be useful if I add a second instance of Xotopad.

Today bought the 15.6” 10-touch monitor. https://www.walmart.com/ip/UPERFECT-Por ... 1544055081 Will receive within two weeks. This size monitor for me the right size to put keyboard setup. I hope all goes well. I got it through Walmart so if need be I can return it to the store.

I was looking at the Erae Touch MIDI 2.0 controller https://www.embodme.com/old-home versus the 15.6” 10-touch monitor with Xotopad https://feelyoursound.com/xotopad/ as the primary software. The Erae Touch to the USA will run around $800 vs $182 for the 15.6” 10-touch monitor and $45 for the software = $227.

The Erae has velocity sensing and the Xotopad has location sensing to transmit velocity. As for drumming on this monitor may not a good idea whereas the Erae is designed to take the punishment.

I may get a second 15.6” 10-touch monitor for my touchable VST instruments and fx.

Why? My 23” Viewsonic’s touch stopped working though the image is not affected. I will find a use for it somewhere. See my signature.
