What's this - a new Wavelab that doesn't look like Windows 98?!
I'll probably upgrade just for the more modern interface.

It looks great.
I will wait to see how it runs on Mac. Wavelab 7 was such a garbage release that I never wanted to bother with another Steinberg audio environment (outside of plugins) on Apple.
When I used WL6 on a PC, it was hands down the best audio editor. Very effective and efficient.
This looks like a completely different beast, so I will wait with high hopes. If it delivers, I'll be ready to jump back on WaveLab.

Wavelab is one of those programs that is so valuable that I ignore how badly someone torchered the concept of the docking interface.
It looks like W9 may resolve that. I'm really looking forward to the 15th.

It looks like they took a cue from visual studio and MS Office ribbon bar. That's a good thing on windows. Hopefully I can get round to downloading today or tomorrow.

Hello,
Best regards,
GN
Yes, that is actually what we did. For WaveLab 9, we transfered most functions and options from a classical menu structure to a modern and more intuitive graphical control toolbar concept.SJ_Digriz wrote:It looks like they took a cue from visual studio and MS Office ribbon bar. First impression ... it's the first time I've opened Wavelab in years and years where I feel like when I open a project I can easily find my way around it. That's important to me because I don't use it every day like I do Cubase. So, having things be as obvious as possible is important.

On Twitter, Steinberg says the trial will be available in a couple of weeks.
