As far as I Know. I could find no restrictions in the giveaway and as I have claimed the software given away in other free Beat magazines without any complaints or refusals from various software companies I asume this giveaway to be the same. If there were any problems KVR is a reputable site and I'm sure something would have triggered the moderators to pull the thread by now.

I also registered Beatzille but only got a download for the linux version.

Unsure about this as some software companies with Beat magazine giveaways put their software on the accompanying DVD but others insist on a link to their site so if you don't have the DVD you don't get the software. These deals are done on an individual basis with each software company. I'm lucky enough to have a mate that works in Germany so from time to time he brings me back a load of Beat DVD's, but if it wasn't for that I would get a subscription. The deal with the subscriptions is that you always get a free peice of software which is usually worth what the subscription is (if it was a piece i particularly wanted I'd go down this route anyway). On a side note I used to buy CMusic on a regular basis but only occasionaly now, Beat has left it in the dust for it's giveaways of late! PLEASE don't be tempted to go to the last stage and claim the software without downloading the PDF (it's worth a look even if you don't speak English) these internet things are hit based, hits mean value to the company. NO I don't work for Beat but it's the beat music production magazine on the market by FAR!

I got a serial number and a download link to Beatzille but only for Linux which i found weird.
Don't have any dvd only download so i guess i won't get it then (but i got other goodies for free from beat on facebook)

Unless they've changed their stance in the meantime, Beat themselves have said you shouldn't download this without buying the mag:

Main bit: "Although it is technically possible to download the software without having bought the respective Beat issue, it's not right."

So, sounds like the Photoshop CS2 situation again. They're not doing anything to protect the download from unauthorised downloading but does that mean it's open season, legally? Discuss.

It took 3 days for my serial number to come, but it did and I just installed Bigwig 8-Track on my Mac and everything is working.

So ... you just make an account with Bitwig, and they send you a serial number? Or am I missing something?

No, I was missing something

Go here and go thru the process of a purchase but the total amount is $0, you don't pay anything.
It's totally free. I'm not sure why you have to go thru a process like that if an item is free.

After you go thru the process, wait for your PDF invoice with the serial number to come (it took 3 days for me), then follow the previous link I posted to download and activate Bigwig Studio-8.
