Why does C1 mute the next note / chord?

I am brand new to using Ample guitars. I am using AGTC and AGG playing on a midi keyboard. I am aware that C1 and D1 do not play notes other than in Detect Mode. When I hit the note C1 when not in strumming / detect mode it mutes all sound on any note or chord I play immediately thereafter. The second hit on any note or chord seems to cancel the muting and I can then continue playing. Is there any way to cancel this muting when I hit C1. I play live and my style has me consistently hitting C1 and it disrupts the song.
