Phonec is best described as an 'analog flux synthesizer'. Inspired by the mystique of video logo synth scores from worn out VHS tapes, Phonec was ultimately designed with character in mind. However Phonec is capable of producing a wide range of sounds such as vintage analogue tones, lo-fi synthscapes, ethereal pads, minimal techno sequences, and synthwave leads and basses. Phonec has an intuitive GUI that attempts to strike a balance between form and function, making it a very usable tool that can be a real inspiration to work with. Apart from it's unique character and smooth workflow, Phonec has several interesting features that set it apart from the crowd. Here is a brief overview that highlights the most important aspects:
  • Dual oscillators that can be combined in various ways
    Analog style oscillator drifting
A unique Melt feature that adds instant character to any patch
    Arpeggiator
    Accent Sequencer
    3 LFOs (2 monophonic, 1 polyphonic)
    HFO (High Frequency Oscillator)
    2 Modulation Envelopes
    Echoshifter Delay Unit
    Universal Value Display
    Double Click Parameter Reset
    128 presets
Phonec is available as a VST plugin for windows for a special introductory price of $34.

I wish it were a possibility. It's really up to the developer of SynthEdit, but I don't see this happening anytime soon.

Yes a Mac version would be really cool. Can't bribe the developer to code one?

how about porting it to Reaktor?

Post

Hello, I don't know why but it doesn't want to work in Reaper. I installed the demo but when I try to play with my midi I just can't get a sound.
Is there anything I didn't get ?

Seems too complicated, plus I don't own Reaktor.

Did you be sure to include all of the contents of the folder? That is, the .dll file as well as the folder named 'phonec'. Are you sure it's not your midi controller? One of my beta testers was using Reaper, so it should work fine, but I'll run a test.

Well yes I paid attention to install it correctly. What's weird is that the demo of the Dubtron works perfectly in Reaper and Ableton but the Phonec doesn't want to work in my Reaper and even doesn't appear in Ableton...
Am I cursed ??

Just ran a test in Reaper and it works just fine. I even tried installing the plugin without the folder and it still worked. As for Ableton, that is my main host, so there's definitely no problems here. Try deleting the plugin and redownloading it. and make sure that 'phonec' folder that contains those sep files is always right beside the dll file. Most hosts will automatically generate this folder, but there are some instances where it might not, which is why I've included it with the download.

In Ableton when I seek and open the folder called "phonec_1.0 (demo)" and go through it, all I find is the folder called "phonec" but the vst doesn't appear.
I still don't have any sound from it in Reaper. How is it possible to have Dubtron demo working and not Phonec demo ?!
Maybe I have something to configure in Reaper and Ableton. I'm pretty new on these daws...
