It's been a while since I mentioned anything about Dubtron2. I recently moved into a new apartment so everything was put on hold for awhile, but I finally got my studio up and running again, and I'm back to work on Dubtron2. I'm glad I took a break, because coming back to it made me realize a few things. Dubtron is really an LFO driven kind of synth, so that's where I've shifted my focus this past week. And what I've come up with is not your typical dubstep wubwub modulation, instead we now have 3 different types of modulation with 3 completely different functions. I'm going to post more about this soon with some sound examples. But this really gives Dubtron it's own style, setting it free of genre stagnation, even venturing off into ambient territory. I've also implemented a few lessons learned from Phonec, including a Melt-style function. All in all, it's really shaping up to be a unique synth with a sound all it's own. I'm shooting for a release date within the next month.
Speaking of Phonec, I've recently begun working with the latest beta version of SynthEdit (you know, the one that will potentially be able to create Mac plugins as well as 64-bit). So I decided that now would be a great time to start working on Phonec v2. It's coming together nicely, but the new SynthEdit is currently very unstable. So it will probably be a while until I can get a solid Phonec2 beta out of it, but it is definitely in progress.
