Targeting racks by midi channel?

Most likely a newbee question: I recently imported a midi file into a new session, which results in one track with one sequence/part with several events, that adresses 4 different midi channels.
I then wanted to create racks with appropriate modules, to which I can route the events. But how? What is the recommended way to assign modules "per event"?
Ok, I tried a mux with a note splitter and racks inside that mux, which works. But wouldn't it be fine to be able to assign midi channels to the racks?

Instead of a note splitter, use a MIDI channel splitter.
Doesn't that do what you're looking for?

Thank you for your fast support.
Sorry, my fault, I indeed used a midi channel splitter, not a note "key" splitter. Is this the only and recommended way?

Currently i think that's the easiest way yes i.e. using a 'multi-timbral' mux.
FYI: The wishlist includes a function to split up a sequence part into multiple sequence parts per MIDI channel.
