Trouble Exporting Songs

On the majority of the songs I export, I wind up hearing the song I just made differently than how it sounded in Mulab. Sometimes racks aren't as loud as they were in the program, or certain sections of a song will sound distorted and will crackle. Why does my exported music sound different than while I'm working on it? It is very frustrating and I hope there is an easy fix. (I'm using Mulab 6 with Mac OSX if this could be a factor).
