I am looking into buying MuLab, but here are a few questions.
*Does it come with a lot of boxes? Phaser, distortion, reverb?
*Are there a lot of instruments or free ones? Good synths, realistic orchestra, good drum kits?

MuX is a modular environment, available in two forms:
- MuLab is a DAW with MuX built in
- MuX VST is a VST plugin version of MuX
You can try out MuLab Free - it's a full featured version of MuLab, including MuX. It's the best way to find out if it works for you. You'll also be able to experiment with MuX inside MuLab.

You can also download and try out MuX VST within other DAWs that support VST plugins, but there's no "free" version - you'll get the soft noise reminder to buy a licence.

If you try MuLab and decide to buy it but use another DAW as well, you may see how having MuX available in both is useful.

Yes that's correct. As mentioned on the MuLab product page and on the shop page, and as you can check in MuLab Free, MUX Modular is completely integrated in MuLab. It's good that you double-check things before purchase

MUX is simply a code fork of Mulabs core modular engine that was put into a VST interface for those who wanted the power of Mulabs modular system inside of a separate DAW.
Mulab is my current DAW and I've been using it for half a decade now. The modular engine is top notch and has rarely left me thirsting for something more (that's where another VST comes into play, which can also be worked into a modular device chain).
