I would like to stop Mulab from following the cursor when playing and zoomed in, can this be done?

Yes, right-click -> unselect "Auto Scroll". Also see Preferences, search for "auto scroll".

Right-click editor unselect "Auto Scroll".
If you want Auto-scroll to be off by default then also update that preference.

The right-click menu is quick and easy to access - it's meant to be your "do this right now" way of operating. The preferences screen is for setting things up the way you want long term so MuLab starts up the way you like.

Thanks for your reply.
So if I set preferences to disable auto scroll, then it should have a permanent global effect? But it had no effect due to the context menu option, sorry it just doesn't make sense as to how this should work?

Each part has its own setting for auto-scroll. That's because you might want to keep a certain section zoomed in certain parts, but other parts you want auto-scroll. New parts get the default auto-scroll setting defined in the preferences. So that preference indeed has no immediate effect, it's only when creating new parts. For immediate effect, right-click and toggle auto-scroll.

So you set default setting in pref's for new parts, then you can turn on/off for each part can have it's own setting depending how you work with that part?
Is that about right?
Thanks for taking time to explain

Still having issues with this!
New project using only sampled loops. I dragged from my file explorer to mulab track column and selected Streamed file. I added 16 parts this way.
Auto Scroll is off in pref's and see no other way of disabling it, please help, it's seriously a pain in the ass!
Btw, there's no option via context menu that I can see anywhere.

Can't explain it better than in this post: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 4#p6841274
Double-checked the scenario u described, works fine & as expected here.

If each part has it's own auto scroll settings, why doesn't it appear in the context menu when I right click any part?
Are we actually talking about the same thing?
What I am talking about is pressing play causes the screen to automatically scroll the entire composition. I'm not sure how you can set certain parts to auto scroll and others not? Do you have a video demo of this? I'm afraid I'm not able to make videos, so can't explain further.
I need this off, permanently, or I'll be forced to look elsewhere I'm afraid, sorry.

It does! (when you're in the relevant part editor, of course)freddo wrote:If each part has it's own auto scroll settings, why doesn't it appear in the context menu when I right click any part?
If not, pls post a screenshot of what u mean.
The composition has an auto scroll switch too. But the auto scroll switch for the parts is for within the part specific editors of course. Sorry if that wasn't clear. What I am talking about is pressing play causes the screen to automatically scroll the entire composition. Thanks for your reply.
Sorry for not understanding, I see what you mean now.
But my issue remains...
In Composition view Auto-scroll is disabled yet it continues to follow the cursor. I should mention that this is happening on a looped marker point, does that make a difference?
I really want to completely disable ALL auto-scrolling throughout the app, it's not for me! But despite turning it off it keeps scrolling?
Thank you for taking time on a Sunday to help, I do appreciate it

Double-checked it in the composer too, works as expected too. Eg when i right-click composer and switch off auto-scroll it does not auto-scroll. Maybe you're using a project which was saved with auto-scroll on? If so, right-click and switch it off.
