The song is called "The Seven Wonders of the Ancient World".
Its Miroslav Philharmonik Choirs only. This song is called "THE COLOSSUS OF RHODES"...
The reverb I use is (as allways) the reverb from the Philharmonik player... http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemus ... dID=657125
The song is called "THE HANGING GARDENS OF BABYLON"
Listen to it here:
http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemus ... dID=657125
Made with Miroslav Philharmonik and this time I thought I'd try T-RackS so I downloaded the demo and put a master effect on the outputbus. Since this is not a song within any spesific style (the demo-style maybe) I just called it "Miroslav Philharmonik Rhapsody".

Contest Rules:
Length of the demo:

The demo must be a minumum of 30 seconds long up to a maximum of 2 minutes in length.

Material you can use to make the demo:

You can ONLY use IK and Sonic Reality products to make the demo. The music can be any style of music or even multiple styles. The goal of the demo is to show off both your music performance or production chops and the variety of sounds in the various IK and SR products that you own. Even if you don't own certain products like AmpliTube 2 you can now go download the demo version from www.amplitube.com and use that to make your demo (and then you can possibly WIN a full version for yourself by doing a great job). Here is an example of what such a demo might sound like.

Here is the list of products you can use to make your IK/SR product demo.

AmpliTube 2
Ampeg SVX
CSR
T-Racks
SampleTank 2
Sonik Synth 2
Miroslav Philharmonik
Any Sonik Capsules or Expansion Tanks
Any Sonic Refills or Miroslav Refills
Any R.A.W. Style Pak, Universal Groove Kit or Gold Edition
Any downloadable sounds from www.esoundz.com
Any Loop Club grooves from www.esoundz.com
Any classic Sonic Reality sample libraries on www.esoundz.com

You can use any full version or demo versions of the above products.

The prizes:

First prize is a TOTAL STUDIO BUNDLE, a StealthPlug plus your choice of any of the Sonic Reality Gold Bundles: Sonic Refill Gold, Miroslav Refill Gold or R.A.W. Gold Edition.

Second prize is your choice of the TOTAL EFFECTS BUNDLE or the TOTAL WORKSTATION Bundle and your choice of Sonic Refills Silver or R.A.W. Universal Groove Kit.

Third prize is the R.A.W. Universal Groove Kit and a StealthPlug with AmpliTube 2 Live.

Judging: Perhaps the best part about this contest is that YOU are the judges.

Judging criteria: You want to judge based on sound quality, musicality, variety of tones or sounds used in the demo to show off the diversty of sound you can get from the products and/or the variety of musical styles to show the sounds and effects in different contexts. But ultimately it is YOU who judges these demos for how well they impress you and make you want to buy the products they are showing. For extra credit the first one who uses the largest variety of IK and SR products in their demo will get a 50 epointz as a separate bonus prize.

Other rules:

All candidates will have to agree to let us use these songs as "user demos" posted on esoundz as well as SR or IK websites (your name or KVR nick-your choice- will be credited). These songs can be instrumental or with vocal but they MUST be original compositions or public domain songs that are more than 70 years old (so many classical pieces are fine to do if you'd like). You must turn in your sequencer file, if asked, (Reason, ProTools, Cubase, Logic -whatever format it is) as "proof" that it is your work.

All specifications are subject to change at any time. Please check back to this initial first page in the thread for any additional rules.

Well done. So what R.A.W Style Pak do you want? PM me your address. That was fast! Those are too easy I think. Still... great scene, great movie. I know the whole speech by heart actually.

Sounds great, but how to proof, one just used the listed products. It's easier in Reason: one can submit a RNS or RPS file, but there are sooooo many hosts.
I use a lot of effect-chains in Reason for loop destruction. Can i use it? Or the m-class master effects: They arent from IK or Sonic Reality.

This sounds like a lot of fun! Let the games begin!

Yeah you can use any effect in Reason but your sound sources must be only Sonic Reality Refills or SR Rexes. No stock sounds (even though SR actually did some of the stock sounds for Reason 3 but just to make things simple, use only the refills and rexes we've done separately).

Bring it on!

It's the holiday season so I think I will make this fun and give something away from time to time just to make it more interesting. So, the first person to post their submission gets $25. in epointz on www.esoundz.com Good luck! But remember that you can only make ONE submission.

Yes, I will add to the rule that you have to turn in your sequence file as proof. Good point.

Damn! I wish I'd seen this earlier. Best scene in movie history, possibly. Too bad everything else Mamet made was crap!

I think I have enough IK stuff to pull this off...I want that Total Studio...drool...I'll have to give it a shot! :D

hmm...only 2 minutes? Most of my best pieces are anywhere from 3 to 5 minutes. Would they be considered?...or should I pear them down....or start again

O.K so I am late.

Can I at least get the steak knives?

Dan
Those that can, do. Those that can't, argue about it on k-v-r

The songs are not being judged for composition so you could just edit it down to the best bits within 2 minutes or do a new one. Up to you! But, the piece could be a verse and a chorus and fade. It could even just be a jam (not a song). Listen to the audio demo I posted as an example. Schitzo is GOOD in this case, changing up the sounds every 4-8 bars sometimes makes for a better DEMO showing off what sounds there are in a product. Could be annoying as a SONG but this isn't a "song contest". It's a user demo contest. If YOU were selling the products and wanted to show them in action according to what YOU like... pile it all in within 2 minutes and see if everyone likes it the best!

This should be fun and interesting. Feel free to ask me for tips guys. The one I just mentioned is a good one I think.

Sorry you're fired. You have, ALL you have is one week to regain your job. Oh do I have your attention now? Guy don't come into KVR unless he wants to talk about plug-ins. You think he came in here to get out of the rain? Put that Kantos DOWN! Software's for closers only. Is your name Dan? You call yourself a musician you son of a bitch? You see this Total Studio Bundle? This costs more than your car. What's my name? Squids! That's my name. You call this abuse? If you can't take this abuse how are you gonna take the abuse of people judging your demo in this contest? Sure, I can see you later on hanging at a bar "yeah, I used enter KVR demo contests. It's a tough racket". It takes Brass SampleTank patches to be in this business. They're out there WAITING to hear your demo. Are you gonna join the contest? Are you MAN enough to join the contest?

(anyone who doesn't know the movie thinks I am the meanest person right now! lol... just go see the movie! It's the Alec Baldwin scene. One of the best scenes ever. I know I jumbled that around but it was on the fly. If I had more time I could make it better... had to cut out most of the bad words though... this here's a family forum... sort of... :hihi: ).

Post

We knew that was coming!! "Brass SampleTank patches"!! :tu:

Man, you know you're a geek when that's funny to you.
