Just a head's up here from your friendly neighborhood Squid. Sonic Reality has many new products to be released this month. Among them are FOUR new Drum Kit products for BFD2! Two famous drummers and two in the style of famous artists from the 60s and 70s. More info coming! All are priced under $100 and we're going to do a pre-order with a discount coupon which will make it worth reading this thread. If you are a BFD user these are some cool additions to your collection. If you're an Infinite Player/Kontakt user you get a major break for having both versions if you want. So... more news soon!

Yeah me too. This is going to be interesting. If there's enough chatter and sales on these I will be able to make the pitch to more of our artists, producers and other partners to do more kits in BFD. But 4 in 1-2 months is not bad at all. More to come. Spread the word! I haven't even said anything yet on the FXP forum. But feel free. We'll announce it officially very soon.

Will these be DVDs or download?

Mainly download. Might be available on DVD by request only or something like that. We're in final stages of testing/tweaking now so it should be available by next month or sooner.Dominus wrote:Will these be DVDs or download?
I'll tell you what the products are:
Epik Drums Woody Woodmansey Kit
Epik Drums Rod Morgenstein Kit
Epik Drums 60s Downbeat Kit (that's a Ringo style kit recorded by Ken who recorded the Beatles)
Epik Drums 70s EJ KIt (that's an Nigel Olsen style kit recorded by Ken who recorded Elton John).
So each of those is its own product under $100 each. The crossgrade price for whoever owns them in Infinite Player/Kontakt is going to be very low so you can have both formats if you like.
More to come! These kits are great because they are warm VINTAGE drums. There's not enough of that out there. Rod's kit is more rock/fusion like Neil's though or somewhere in between. A beautiful variety of sonic flavors. Now that the cat is out of the bag you can count on the REST of the Epik Drums kits being released in BFD2 as well. Bozzio, Cobham and Bob Siebenberg from Supertramp is next. Then after that, depending on how much word of mouth and BFD love these get there could be quite a few more including some that kits that have never been released in any format yet!
Stay tuned for more info. We may put these on discounted pre-order very soon.

Yeah I'll do some presets too but they may or may not come WITH the release. But will be available one way or another. I am pushing for them to be released this month if we can but I'd say next month is the latest at this point. They'll go on sale pre-order next week though. So that's good for anyone who is sure they want them and would like to get a pre-order discount.

Haha... no not THAT kit. This is a vintage Roto Tom kit he used to play with Zappa, UK and Missing Persons. Still a monster though but not quite as insane a rig as the one he uses today.SJ_Digriz wrote:hmmm ... Bozzio ... You'd need 7 instances of BFD2 in 32 piece mode to get his kit

Sounds tasty. For those of us who only have BFD Eco, will it work for that (until we upgrade, uv cuss)?

hehe, yeah I figured it was the older kit. Saw Zappa in Berkeley on Joe's Garage tour a LOOOOONG time ago. Was killer. How good a drummer is Vinnie Colaiuta to get Terry stuck on vocals!Squids wrote:Haha... no not THAT kit. This is a vintage Roto Tom kit he used to play with Zappa, UK and Missing Persons. Vinnie doing Space Boogie with JB at Ronnie Scott's mind blowing. Want THAT kit. And, to derail my own post further, Simon Phillips reprises that insane pattern on Derek Sherinians new OCEANA release. If you liked JB "There & Back" you'll get deja vu listening to Oceana ... it's a good listen.
If you have to ask, you can't afford the answer

The ones that will qualify are these (which are incidentally ALL on sale for an extra 25% off right now):rogjul wrote:Hi I do own the Ken Scott SE collection for infinate player.

The HD version: http://www.esoundz.com/details.php?ProductID=4116
EpiK DrumS A Ken Scott Collection Kits Only http://www.esoundz.com/details.php?ProductID=4372
and the individual drummer MULTITRACK Kits:
Woody Woodmansey (Bowie) http://www.esoundz.com/details.php?ProductID=4242
Rod Morgenstein (Dixie Dregs) http://www.esoundz.com/details.php?ProductID=4240
Bill Cobham (Mahavishnu Orch) http://www.esoundz.com/details.php?ProductID=4238
Bob SIebenberg (Supertramp) http://www.esoundz.com/details.php?ProductID=4239
Terry Bozzio (Missing Persons) http://www.esoundz.com/details.php?ProductID=4241

Those are all full Multitrack kits which are the same sample material that is going to be in BFD, just different programming.
The EpiK DrumS SE (Special Edition) http://www.esoundz.com/details.php?ProductID=4670
is a less expensive cut down version with all of the kits but not all of the multitracks. It's more than just stereo but it's not apples with apples. So, it won't come with the SAME crossgrade discount as the others but you could still get a break on an EpiK BFD kit when it comes out if you ask Allen our customer support manager or maybe we'll do a special coupon code for SE users if enough of them want to get the BFD version.
