First let me finally let you hear some of the Sonik Capsule demos that we'll be posting soon.

For those that don't know, the Sonik Capsules are now SHIPPING from www.esoundz.com and will soon be available all over the world within weeks! They work natively in both SampleTank 2 as well as Kontakt, Battery, HALion, EXS24 and Reason all from the same box). Here are some audio demo examples just scratching the surface of the unlimited sounds and styles of music that can be made from them:

For demos of the 20 volumes of Sonic Refills for Reason, I made a whole thread just for that right here:

Check out some more Capsule + SR/IK stuff from Koorby and friends on this thread:

Here is a song from Mark Anthony who used mostly Sonic Synth:

Plus you can hear a lot of SR sounds in musical context in the Music Cafe from people like Donkey Tugger, Mr. Tunes, Smart, Bearded One, Progfusion and others. Go ahead and ask them which sounds they used to know more. http://www.kvr-vst.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=14

If you've made any music with SR sounds (in any format, not just ST) and/or if you've made any songs with IK soundware like ST2 XL or any of the libraries from SR, AMG, IK and others then feel free to post a link here in this thread. Both our sounds in different musical context and sharing your music is what this thread is all about.

Anyone who even bothers to post their tune using any of our sounds in this thread will automatically get $5 ePointz added to their esoundz account too. So, go make some music!

Ooh boy... here we go...

Here is my entry for last month's METEL contest. SR Drums and bass, played from ST2. T-RackS on almost everything.

Here is a quick piece which (I think) was 100% ST2. Yes, I used far too much effects processing in ST2. That's kinda the point. :) Happy and distorted.

Here is a "serious" piece I composed a few months ago. All the sounds come from ST2, but all the automated effects are custom Quantum-FX patches. This piece also features my unreleased guitar powerchords library that I recorded and assembled myself. Synthetic and twisted.

Here is a "commercial" pop/r&b song I finished recently. Again, all sounds are ST2. Vocals through T-RackS as well.

Here is a soppy ballad. Drums from ST2. Guitars crunched with Amplitube. Vocals and guitars through T-RackS.

Here is another "serious" piece. Again, all sounds are from ST2 - mostly custom patches. Automated effects courtesy of custom Quantum-FX patches. Dramatic soundtrack to a fictitious blockbuster set in Iraq.

Here is a slightly "softer" piece. It's all ST2, with a touch of Quantum-FX. Trying not to call it "new-age". :)

Here is another pop/rock song that I sing on. Sonic Reality drums and bass. Guitars crunched with Amplitube. Vocals and mix through T-RackS. The slide guitar part is from ST2.

Here is a quick bliss-out piece I composed one lazy night. Everything came from ST2 (mostly SR sounds), but the squishy noise at the start was rearranged with another custom Quantum-FX patch.

That's about it for now. :)

Note: I almost exclusively used massively-edited and effected sounds, such that they usually bear little resemblance to the presets they started from. You will probably not hear any presets in my music. It's probably a good indication of just how much ST2 can customise and warp sounds. The same goes for Quantum-FX. I almost exclusively use my own custom patches.

Forever,

Kim.

the guitars sound great, how big are those libraries?

The only piece where the guitars are from my personal ST2 guitar powerchord library is "Aeolian". The library is about 70 megs, which is partly why I haven't put it online. 61 samples, most are several seconds long. Up and down strokes of powerchords, two chord voicings. Additional palm mutes and other atonal sounds to add realism. Recorded direct, and made a couple of dozen presets using ST2's built-in amp sim.

For all the other pieces, the guitars are (mostly) actual recording of me playing my guitar. Listening back though, most of that stuff could be done with my powerchord library.

The library was inspired by the Sonic Reality guitar strum library. I was really hanging out for that, so when it got canned I went out and bought my own guitar and made my own powerchord library.

Or course, my library is much more limited than the SR strum library was going to be. Mine only uses one guitar, one pickup position, and only two chord positions (each samples chromatically transposed up the neck). Even though it was a rushed job, it still took me a whole afternoon! I'd really like to do a more comprehensive powerchord library. Maybe when I have some holidays...

I was just about to post an inquiry about shipping dates and demos for the capsules, when I noticed the Announcement. I can't believe I missed it all weekend.

Coupla questions:

In the Acoustic Guitar Capsule
and Electric Guitar Capsule
are there any
chords,
strums,
or riffs?

Or is it just notes and noises?

Also, in another thread, I think it was mentioned that the "Pre-Order Price" would be honoured for a month after the demos went up.

Is the clock now running?

Thanks.

OK now that the August song comp is over, here's my entry made entirely in SampleTank 2XL:

Download "Reflectitudes Movement One" - 128Kbit/44Khz/2:00 - 1.88MB

I used the Steinway Grand, Flutterbies Pad, Soprano Ah, Solo Trumpet, Maccato Strings, VeloDynOrchestra, Timpani, Voilin Ensemble and the symbol crash from one of Squid's SR Studio Drums 1.

Enjoy!

The Piano and Strings are Sonic Synth. Some of the drums are Sonic Synth and SampleTank2. The bassy synth thing is SampleTank2. Oboe is Sonic Synth.

@Jeez - Wow! I've not listened to everything yet just Aeolian and Lydian but I'm really liking it all so far. I love the detail...

Thanks for posting your tune. I'll need your full name to add your ePointz. You can PM it.

Recorded this a long while back, so I don't remember the exact instruments used, but most of the pads (everything in the first half and some of the second), the bassline, the lead, and drums are all SR (I think all Sonic Synth, except the drums which is from the Acoustic Drums expansion for ST).

Dream Every Atomic Breath

I do know that in the second part there is some z3ta+ and Angelina.

The mix could be better, but I am too lazy to go back and fix it. I am definitely partial to that lead :)
