Just sign up for the free service and give it the URL of the youtube video you want to chordify. Since the video was missing in the above link I used the service to chordify an extended studio version of the song.

Whether it's accurate enough depends a lot on what you want to do with it. If you want to strum your ukelele and sing along on the street corner then it will be fine. If you want to do a convincing disco house remix, or play it in a cover band, there's a bit more work to do.

You can play the video inside the chordify service and it syncs the user interface with the video so you can see what chord it thinks is playing while you're listening. Additionally, you can click on any measure and it will pick it up at that point so you can play a section repeatedly until you've learned the detail that you need.

When you do this, you can see clearly that the service is giving you a very bare bones lead sheet. It's enough to orient you but it does not include, for example, all of the chords that the synth is playing.

You can find for yourself!

- First find the song key. For this you'll need to use some instrument or a tuning fork for reference pitch.
- Listen to the bass and write it down! The bass already tells most of the chord progression just by itself.
- Once you have the bass down, listen to the chords to distinguish the many possible chords in that context.

- Using my melodica, I found that the song key is E. From ear, it's more specifically in E minor.
- From there, I can hear that the bass at 0:54 is doing :
bIII, IV, V, bVI, bVII, I
IV, V, bVI, bVII, I
IV, V, bVI, bVII, I
IV, V, bVI, bVII, I
(note: I personally notate every chord progression as if the song was in major, to keep the symbols III, VI and VII consistent across major and minor tonalities).
- In E minor, that means:
G, A, B, C, D, E
A, B, C, D, E
A, B, C, D, E
A, B, C, D, E
- Already just from music theory, you can fill in a first guess for some chord symbols:
G, Am, B, C, D, Em
Am, B, C, D, Em
Am, B, C, D, Em
Am, B, C, D, Em
- Now using your ears and playing around with your instrument, some of these chord symbols are wrong or incomplete, correct them:
G, Am11, G/B, C, D, Em
Am11, Gadd9/B, C, D, Em7
Am11, Gadd9/B, C, D, Em7
Am11, Gadd9/B, C, D, Em7
(note: these might still be subtly wrong, like Em could be Em7 or vice-versa)
