I was refering to glitchless and sample *precise* performance, which is not there yet according to this loop glitch I stumbled upon today, and I'm sure Reaper will soon "sound proffesional" HiHi as soon as you manage to iron out those a bit badly implemented things.
Cheers!

Ahh, yes this is a stumbler

REAPER gives you a lot of setup options and some can have pretty drastic results

Ill tell you this, I can arm 24 tracks in input monitoring, play 24 others record them at 3msec latency and no glitch

6msec I get pops in the monitoring, and no recording glitches

So things are still a bit weird, but for a hint, set it LOWER latency an HIGHER performance than you think your comuter can handle...from my experience REAPER actually runs better like that

yeah it is weird

1) there's no snapping to zero-crossing points. To me, it's a must for an audio editor. You can't make perfect loops without it.

Wow, you are right, I just took it for granted, that like most audio apps, it had the option buried somewhere, in the preferences. This should be a high priority list item.

.........also, RMS window size should be 600ms.

However, as the peak RMS values in a K-meter are allowed to reach +4db, I set it up this way, so I don't get constant red when the music is at its peak:

for K-14 metering 13db RMS gain, and the levels have to be between -4 to 0db at peaks
for K-12 metering 11db RMS gain, the levels should be between -4 to 0db at peaks
for K-20 metering 19db RMS gain, the levels should be between -4 to 0db at peaks

Excellent advice thanks Dave! I like using the K-Metering standard and thanks to your helpful tips, I was able to set Reaper up, for K-14, which is my preferred metering system. Nice, real K-Metering in Reaper. Love
Since you already worked out the proper steps, for getting proper K-Metering, in Reaper, maybe Justin can make these into "Preset Metering Options" (K-12, K-14, K-20), when you right click, on the Master fader. It would be a nice touch!

This one is probably my fault...We discussed the RMS+3 but not for anything final...but you can see the intent was there by the presets of db sizes Smile

Anyhow I bet my sapre Edelbrcok 750 that this one will get better

softsynth, I do like the fader and meter you made.

And the whole tatoo thing, may be good for you. Many people don't care what it looks like. Hey, I've been a Tracktion user for a long time. I'm pretty sure it's not always been seen as a beautiful app by all.

But it does matter. It can affect mood for some people. I can't explain it, but it just does, whether it SHOULD or not. I was just mentioning that I think it would be cool to be able to skin, like in EXT. Hey, the more options the better. And if somebody doesn't want to change it, then I guess they don't have to!

Come on, I know there is a Reaper user somewhere who is just DYING to make a SAW Studio skin, kids handwriting and all!

Laughing

By the way, Pipeline, would you want to help me out with something? It would require a bit of writing, and alot of knowledge of Reaper. Just let me know, as I think you would be the best one for it.

No, you can't skin it yet. You can only change colors, unless I missed something. I just thought it would be cool to be able to do so, for the sake of options.

By the way, is anyone else having the problem I posted in this thread:

http://www.cockos.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1796

I've posted about it before, but that was a couple versions ago. So I made the updated thread. A couple of people said they also experienced it.

There was a DXi that kept doing that to me. I think other plugs were doing it to, but got fixed. Is that a free plugin? If I could download it...

Well, it's EWQLSO, so it's not free. Justin did say they were having problems that were fixed, but they still happened for me. And somebody else mentioned that it happened with GPO, and Justin mentioned another plug.

Oh, and the help would be concerning the routing in Reaper. I can give you more details through PM if you are interested.

It needs a 'sturdier' GUI...i'd be scared to start a project in it as every time i've downloaded it and opened it i got this weird need to press my hand against the monitor screen since it looks as if reaper is about to break and collapse in a heap of pixels at the bottom of my screen. Crying or Very sad

Just a quick question...

There was some issue recently in one of the older builds about ReaRoute messing with some audio drivers and being too aggressive. Has this issue been fixed now? Is it pretty safe to download and install right now?
