Mmm... vibes! Out of (not so) idle curiousity, what's the upgrade path from Marimka? Considering the different name and abilities (and price) I'm guessing that it's pretty much a new product. If that's the case, I'll wait to see. Otherwise, I'll just buy Marimka now - but I don't want to have two VSTs, when one of them is the first one plus more. |

Hmm... double post. I've never seen that before - I got a blank white page. Actually, I have seen that before - it was an annoying non-stage in the buying process for someone else's product. |

yes, I was thinking about that yesterday, they are two totally different synths! Marimka is more a hybrid synth, inspired to percussions like marimbas and steeldrums, but it can't emulate a real marimba properly, it has anyway uge range of interesting percussive sounds both for electronic and acoustic music Beams&Vibes is an advanced emulation of marimbas and vibraphones, trying to recreate the same cool acoustic timbre, Beams&Vibes doesn't use any code from Marimka, moreover Marimka is made with Synth Maker so it's VST Windows ony, where Beams&Vibes is written in C++ and will be available as AU and VST for Mac thanks for asking, <grin> |

I thought that might be the case, but I was confused by:

----Is there a demo for this yet ? Or is that pesky drum synth taking over all Liqih's time lately ? Jeff |

Jeff ah that lame PDS, <grin> seriously, Beams&Vibes is much more complex internally that you could immagine and it will take a while to fine tuning all internal parameters, but then you'll have the best marimba and vibes models available today (too bold?,LOL) |

yes, Sytrus sounds great but it's still a multi purpose synth, (BTW isn't Sytrus GUI too small?)
Back on Beams&Vibes: this is improved and without tremolo http://www.dashsignature.com/marimka/Beams+Vibes_Velocity_10 0.mp3 |

no more comments on that sound?
it's just for the tone quality, since no velocity is used yet so it sounds like a clock, <grin> Last edited by liqih on Mon Jun 11, 2007 9:08 am; edited 1 time in total |

Yeah, so do I!
Funny thing is, when I listened through my big Audio Pro speakers, I got some slight impression of chorus or even faint vibrato in some of the first notes. But when I listened through my Senneiser HD600 headphones, I could hear no trace of that. Room reflection interferences? When can we hear the next example, please?
