When Aphex Twin switches to osx Razz, or perhaps sooner and probably within six months.

easy peezy to use liveslice over ableton for slicing, especialy since ableton has no slicer.
it looks like liveslice is a perfect companion for ableton.

I'm guessing he's running both platforms, but it's just a guess. Since apple moved to intel it's been much more comfortable - just install windows on your mac.

I saw that before but thought it was one of his jokes since (as I remember it) he said, "Live slice has way better time stretching than Ableton Live." It's a bit like comparing apples and watermelons. Live slice is a great slicer and Live is a great time stretcher but niether really is meant to do the other's work.
Anyway I guess I was wrong! Way to go Ohm. Showing the world that Buzz developers can find their softies in the studios of the best! Wink

hello,
ohm's liveslice is failing to work in buzz... its in the gear folder, and each time i load it in machine view I get the 'failed to load' crashing message. Any buzz folk out there able to be midwife to my future liveslicing? Smile

I don't think that is what he was saying. I think he was saying it sounds better to use something like liveslice to chop up a beat and spread it out than to use time-stretching algorithms.

But I really doubt liveslice would have been involved in that, unless he used buzz.

Not what i meant.Based on that vid i can only imagine what he's going to do with liveslice and i'd gladly pay the license just to hear the results Very Happy

it needs an update (namely envelopes (attk & decay) on each slice) and note names on each slice so we can figure out where we're at.
