Hello All,
I'm trying to install the XP Update KB885222 as instructed by Mackie to remove pops and clicks from my audio. I have an Onyx400F and am running Tracktion 2. My pops and clicks are only on playback. They are not in the recordings, or monitoring. But during playback they exist, never the same place twice. I'm pretty sure I've tried everything in Tracktion, in the 400F console, XP optimizing, and went through Mackie's tutotial. Nothing works. But apparently the KB885222 patch fixes everything, but I CANT INSTALL IT! It gives me a 'access denied' error, followed by a 'installation did not complete' error. I spent most of yesterday searching forums, and found many people with the same problem, but NO solutions. So, I am at my wits end. HELP! Why won't KB885222 install? I tried installing in safe mode, no good. HELP! Thanks! |

Well, for anyone who has this same problem and have googled their way here or something, I have the good news of a SOLUTION! The program "RegClean1394.exe" does the trick as recommended here...
http://www.ptgrey.com/support/kb/index.asp?a=4&q=1 91&ST= The solution provided is presented specifically for the KB885222 install errors. I tried it and it worked right away. I was able to install KB885222 without issue. But I still have the pops and clicks in playback. I haven't modified the registry as described by Microsucks here... http://support.microsoft.com/kb/885222 so, maybe things will work well when I do. But any suggestions about these pops and clicks in playback anyway would be very appreciated. Thanks |
