Nucleus SoundLab is proud to announce ReCombination, a brand-new Refill for Propellerheads Reason 3.0+. Reason 3 introduced the amazing Combinator to producers everywhere - which gives sound designers the ability to layer Reason instruments and effects in a semi-modular fashion, while also providing an unprecedented amount of real-time performance control. ReCombination's goal is twofold: to bring a huge amount of quality sample content to Reason in an affordable package; and to push the limits of the Reason Combinator format with fresh, unique sound design.

Each Combinator in ReCombination is 100% *unique* and programmed from scratch. You will not find hundreds of patches based on a small amount of 'template' patches here. Some Combinators represent many hours of work - indeed some are advanced enough to playback small compositions on their own! The end result is a goldmine of sonic inspiration.

In addition, each Combinator uses all 8 virtual controls to their full potential. Each of the 8 rotaries and buttons are mapped to logical and useful parameters that vary for each patch. You'll find these invaluable for live performance or for easy automation tweaking during composition.

ReCombination is a highly useful Refill for all types of computer musicians and producers. Ambient and filmscore genres are well covered; as are old-school electro and progressive electronica/rock; downtempo and dance/trance artists will also find plenty to get excited over.

    Details:
    *1.1gb (nearly 2gb uncompressed) of 16-bit 44khz samples
    *160+ multisample sets
*Samples processed and looped manually for the highest quality
*Patches authored by a variety of talented professional Reason sound designers.
    *Over 400 patches:
    -200+ Combinators
    -183 NN-XT Patches
    -25 Malstrom Patches
    -... and more

ReCombination is now available for electronic distribution at 69.95 EUR in Refill format, 79.95 EUR for the Multi-Format download, or 84.95 EUR for the Multi-Format DVD (inc. international shipping). Note that the Multi-Format versions contain all of the samples in SoundFont format, suitable for loading in a variety of non-Reason software and hardware samplers.

First mp3 demo:
Spore Memory
by Jeremy Janzen

One single Combinator. No notes played, everything is created by live-tweaking the Combinators knobs/buttons.

Once again, One single Combinator per mp3. No notes played, everything is created by live-tweaking the Combinators knobs/buttons.

'Spore Memory' is awesome and i like also 'Comb in the Drums'. 'End Titles' sounds a bit to static and cold, imo.
The refill looks quite tempting and the price is reasonable Wink.

Btw, what about 'Soundcell X' for XPhraze?

Hi mellotronaut,

Thanks for the feedback! I think its probably more of my bad performance of End Titles than any inherent coldness Smile Perhaps I'll try again.

About SC-X. I continue to have nothing to report, which is disappointing. Michael wants to have the udpate for the Mac Xphraze done before the release, which is his decision and is fine. But the amount of time its taking to get the Mac update done is quite lengthy.

Perhaps I'll send him another email about it.

I, for one, would be 100% interested in anything new for xphraze.

I've had thunderstorms for three days straight with no breaks, by the way. Lightning already destroyed my new router, so there is no way I am running my music server till this bad weather is over.

Well, the Xphraze stuff is coming. Its just a matter of when.

But, back on topic. Here is another one:
Final Plea

Same caveats as before: single combinators, no notes played. Live tweaked.

Hey I emailed you this earlier, but it seems this is a better spot to put this, so if you get to this first, disregard the email:

Hey i've been looking at your refills for quite some time now and have pretty much decided to buy the pack. what i was wondering, is the ReCombination refill going to be included in the bundle when you release it? if so, how much? Also, is there going to be a refill "megapack" so to speak? including the ob and all that? how much?

Hi Dave,

Yes I did get your email but I'll reply here so that others can benefit from the good question you've posed.

Its unlikely that there will be a 'mega-bundle' with all Refills anytime soon. However, I would consider a second bundle with OB Resurrection and ReCombination. So you'd have:

Bundle 1: ChordWaves, Ambient Drums, Ambient Space
and
Bundle 2: OB Resurrection, ReCombination

I can't say exactly how much the 2nd bundle will be - but obviously it will be a nice savings like other my bundles.

So you can buy the current bundle and you won't have an overlap. Cheers,

Jeremy

Hey triple p (my initials are triple j!),

Thanks for the feedback! Trust me, this will be by far the best NSL Refill - so if you liked the freebies this will be mind-blowing!

While I'm here, I'll post another demo for everyone:
Alien Beatbox
by Jeremy Janzen

Final Plea is great, especially the verby vanishing in the end.
Alien Beatbox (the title is a very good explication of the music!) floats quite well into my mind...could be even more illuminating in a surround set-up.
I think, this refill will be worth buying it...yessa!

Really like Buttermere, and the other demo's.
Now I am in a dilemma, I was intending to get Databank One, now I have just bought Reason and heard this.
What are you doing to me!
