If you are still experiencing random poof crashes where the application disappears with T3.0.3.3, please post to this thread with a brief description and send me a PM with your email address. I will send you a special crash reporter that we have created to help get to the bottom of these few remaining poof crashes. We really want to solve these.
Thanks for your help. Ben |

Beno, I realize it's not a crash problem, but can you please comment on the "MIDI not recording" problem? It doesn't seem to have been addressed in the patch as I'm still having the problems.
There have been a lot of posts about this on both forums, and I've collected as much information about it as I can. The symptoms seem to be the same for everyone that's given enough info about it. - Tracktion 3 will receive MIDI data. It will route the data through the VST instrument, and back out to the audio device. You can play the VST instrument live all day long with no problem, but when you go to record the track, it just doesn't record. - You can reset the ASIO device from the Settings tab, and this will temporarily fix the problem, but after a few takes, or changing tracks, the problem re-occurs. - Speaking only for myself here, Tracktion 2, Reaper, Energy-XT, Reason, and Cubase all work without issue (I downloaded as many demos and shareware hosts as I could find). I can't recreate the problem on any other host. The problem is specific to Tracktion 3. Other users have reported similar experiences, but with various hosts. - People that have reported the problem are using Firewire, USB, and PCI devices. We originally thought it was a firewire problem, but there have been reports of the problem over the last couple of weeks from PCI and USB users. There's a video of the problem here created by another user: http://screencast.com/t/BUvBPCDaMxk This is definitely a show-stopper for me, and several others. Any help you can give us with this problem would be greatly appreciated. My system specs are: AMD Athlon64 X2 4400+, 2GB RAM, 160GB SATA HD, Focusrite Saffire Edit: Running XP SP2 also |

Crashes happen after hitting the spacebar, but also so abruptly that it is hard to remember just what happened. ---- Paresh |

Poof crash to desktop without lockup using IK Sonic Synth 2 Free. Double click on first preset in left box to load - plays fine. Click on Combi down arrow to select combi - still ok. Double click on first combi called "After The Glow". Get message that Instrument #1 can not be found and then poof. This is reproducible every time.

Experienced my first *poof* to the desktop crash. Circumstance: using Amplitube 2.1.2, making changes in the rack section. Haven't been able to reproduce it.

firebox/ latest drivers. worked fine with t1 and t2. dunno what happened w/t3. the latency settings don't match on t3 either. (t3 says 10.2ms vs the firebox reporting 10ms - but t2 reported 10ms) |

Damn, First poof crash to desktop for Johnny..... messing around with a sample bassed drum instrument.. Transport on play. two instaces of Tera 3, muted, 7 elestik vsts 4 of them muted.... 2 camel spaces open, gating cymbals... just about to input some Ride cymbals. T went poof.... Kool keys is right, it has something to do with sample bassed instruments.. I think ---- I used to think the internet was going to unite mankind. this is slightly embarrasing but... I have a drum problem. So I went ahead and I bought some drums form Ueberschall... most specifically, Trance ID... ok, really bad I know... I am not using any of the synth loops, or pre constructed bass lines... but I desparately needed, good kicks, and snr's, and hi htz... I mean I had such trouble finding descent crash cymbals to gate... and perfect rides... and ueberschall is making a great product. It runs in its only vst called Elastik. I dunno if you have seen this but its wicked cool. the drums get played in a wild algorythm so they are always sounding fantastic.... Really if I was in a tuned room, I would try and synthesize my own drums. but I am realize it is very difficult to make your own drums, unless you are in a great mixing enviorment... and you need really good stuff to start out with.... so thats it, the cat is out of the bag I reckon. I was using euberschalls elastik..... Really. I just can't deny, that the drums on this are amazing.... The kiks, are so powerful. and thumpy. and I love the crashes. and the closed hi hatz are so sharp. the claps are ok. I wish they were more snary ( is snary a word ? ) I dunno.... anyways I am mixing and matching them, so I always have like 7 or 8 in a track. and 1 is playing a kick, one a snr, one a ht, etc..... so bassically I had the transport running. and I clicked an elastick cause I was gonna drop my ride cymbals in with the rythm. and POOF to desktop.... ---- I used to think the internet was going to unite mankind. and the Elastik player is VST 2.4 Malek, down at the euberschall forum posted a response to my quesiton. Kool keys was saying that he though T had a problem with Sampled bassed instruments, or maybe Vst 2.4 or both.... ---- I used to think the internet was going to unite mankind.
