post-hoc argument; the belief that if you post the same assertion often enough it will constitute irrefutable proof of the assertion. ---- To laymen, software development is something akin to wizardry. Neither time, nor effort are involved. If software is missing features they want, or has bugs, it is solely because someone has been too lazy to wave their magic wand. |

crackerwhacker; SWAT team on standby, monitoring posts, dispatched to interrogate potential warez users with a mixture of probing questions, reverse psychology and peer humiliation.
crackerwhackersmacker; Insists that forum member is innocent until proven guilty. Often posts guides as a replacement for the forum member's curiously non-existant manual. An attempt to shift guilt onto the crackerwhacker. Surprisingly low success rate. |

post dramatic stress syndrome - This happens when the original poster posts a question/topic so absurd (or perhaps so badly worded or badly intoned) that all the regulars go crazy insulting/mocking the OP, who initially steadfastly defends his words for several pages before melting down and leaving the forum while the thread goes on for 20 more pages of lunacy before the rest of the regulars even notice. |

nucular fishin' -- the philosophical principle that demonstrates why "fish" must be considered the central nucleus of KVR lore.
emotibiguity -- confusion resulting from lack, or inappropriate use of, textual or graphical smilies. Oom Lout -- a "churlish Dutch uncle;" in other words, a person who employs the heavy metal practice of arbitrarily adding the diaresis (¨) over a few vowels in his or her (hey, who am I kidding? his) nïcknäme. sig-matized -- afflicted with the dreaded "I broke the KVR sig rules" graphic. NotToBBCode -- imaginary tags in the style of BBCode, such as [joke="bad"] or [JohnnyCarson] We'll be right back! [/JohnnyCarson]. May be construed to include imaginary emoticons, such as :ibbies:. dryma -- drama so wryly worded that it could go unnoticed. Certain lagomorphs are said to be adept at this. I already coined:
pup socket -- the opposite of a sock puppet; that is, several people who post under the same login, pretending to be the same person. Sound unlikely? Au contraire: a group of Pakistani homeopaths used to try this on the Amazing Randi's forums but didn't get away with it. |
