Why can't the temp sync "snap" to major points.

OK, i will accept that you don't use 1/8, or 8 bars for example like every other sync plugin LOL, but at least let us snap to the main equals of these.

for example, i want the equivalent of 8, 4, 2, 1, 1/2, 1/4/, 1/8, 1/16 then dotted etc

Just select Tempo Sync and the delay time or whatever will snap to the nearest power-of-two multiple of the host tempo. If you want a different rate, just double-click on the x host tempo "Value" field and enter the multiple you want: 2, 4, 8, 0.5, 0.25, 3, 0.333, etc.

Hope this helps!

Regards,

Earl

SFX Machine Pro includes some Backwards Machine-like presets, with tempo sync, but if you want to change the time constant you have to do some math to make two of the sliders inversely proportional (unless you like the pitch changes). Backwards Machine combines them into one slider to make it easy to control.

nope, i just don't get it. I am trying to calculate in my head what is the equivalent of 1 bar or 4 beats. let's say i want the flanger to sweep up for 4 beats and down for 4 beats so the total cycle is 2 bars. If you give me this I can work out the rest lol

If the desired flanger modulation rate is 8 cycles / beat, set the slider to 8 x host tempo.
If the desired rate is 1 cycle / 1 beat, set the slider to 1 x host tempo.
If the desired rate is 1 cycle / 8 beats, set the slider to 0.125 x host tempo.

There is more info in the friendly manual, http://www.sfxmachine.com/pro/sfx_machine_pro_user_guide.pdf .
