the osc is an attractor, like a bouncing ball algorithm. d2 is 'gravity,' d1 is energy loss over time, eg. thicker atmosphere. it's like throwing a ball into a two-dimensional space with gravity in on a gate event - i is the force ('impulse') of the throw, dc is where it begins. zap osc preceded it. they sound slightly different :p if you haven't tried 'allpassperc,' feeding an impulse into a cascade of allpass filters has a similar effect to t osc, and doesn't have the self-oscillation t osc can produce. i recommend brush for percussion.. it's ~like a bitcrushed sample generated by a seed value. i didn't think much of my lorenz implementation. i wasn't able to create a successful algorithm for the complex number z-plane power transform whatever thingy. |
