(to the tune of "Seasons in the Sun")

I miss that good old KVR.
I've been a lurker since the Vietnam War.
Together we learned how to freeze
Tracks in our DAWs and (if you please)
Battled o'er Macs and PCs.

Goodbye, you guys, I couldn't stand
The disappointment if I would get banned.
Now that the spam is in the air,
Newbie trolls are everywhere,
Think I'll die if I'm not there.

Oh, I loved KVR,
It felt like a biker bar,
But the tunes that I shared
Were the reason I despaired.

I miss the threads we used to post.
The funny, friendly ones: I miss them most.
And the flamewars. Then again,
Even trolls were witty then,
Unless maybe you were Ben.

Goodbye, my friends, it's hard to go
But I have been told firmly to "c.o.",
So I'd better sling my hook.
(Maybe I'll have time to look
Into Simon Cann's ebook!)

Oh, I loved KVR
When I dreamed I would go far,
But the dreams that I dreamt
HPC threads did pre-empt.

I miss those old guys most of all
Whose typing read like some illegible scrawl.
Without caps or punctuation,
Evlolution vs. Creation,
What a lovely situation.

Goodbye, Hyde Park, I've got to leave,
Though my old cohorts they will surely grieve,
It's time for me to do a flounce --
I might just come back on the bounce
With seven sock puppet accounts!

Oh, I loved KVR,
I was practic'ly a star,
But the stars we could dis
Couldn't write a song like this.

I can't miss it because I wasn't here, but that was an awesome lyric. I'd be honored to sing it, especially to the tune of Seasons in the Sun. Thumbs Up!

@Debra: Feel free. *bow* It is yours.

@Rob: Rehowdy. I do try to force a few improbable rhymes into every filk. That one was about as forced as they get.

I was looking at the 'KVRist? w*nk*er?' thread (thank goodness I'm KVRAF and my w*nk*r days are over..) and whyterabbit quoth about a 'quote of the day' thread - so I went looking for it. I didn't find it, but I found this (and I got a whole lot more!).

Nice to see you Rob, and Mephy - great lyrix Wink
