Hello Mr. Bornemark. First, I would like to say that Broomstick Bass is, without a doubt, the most brilliant software instrument out there. That said, can you please let those of us with Intel Macs know if there is going to be a UB version? There have already been two or three posts over the last year or so asking this question. I was hoping with VST Bridge in the latest version of Cubase that I would be able to use BB. Unfortunately, the intermittent ASIO spikes when using VST Bridge on PPC plugins make it unusable.

Last word from Sven was in May in another thread:

It IS a lot of hard work, and Groove Agent 3 production has stolen all our resources for the past months. Because of this, a definite date for an IntelMac version has not yet been set.

Hope the wait will soon be over.

its onsale at the website now for 99euro, I'd be into it, but Im on intel logic so theres no commitment to that format, it just says delayed with no further info, that and vista. too bad, its a cool plug in thats pretty useful and there isnt really a competitive product to it.

Unfortunately, there is no UB/VST version after all this time, and still not a peep from Mr. Bornemark. It seems as though those of us in need of a VST version will have to look elsewhere. Sad

It's been extremely hard for me to make my programmers accept the task of updating BB to become IntelMac and Vista compatible. I have asked and asked... And I'm still asking.

My colleague tried BB on his IntelMac with Cubase 4.1, and it works very well, he reports. I then asked him to make prolonged tests, and the results were still satisfactory.

However, I always recommend any potentional buyer to download the demoversion and try for herself. That's always a good idea with any software.

Hi Sven

Thanks for the update.

It would be a shame to lose BB, but without an update it's eventually going to stop working, even if some have it working on current hardware and OS's.

My studio machine is still a Dual G5 under Tiger, but that's about to change so I hope BB will go in it's current incarnation!

Still, if the programmers won't cooperate, send us their addresses. We'll go and 'chat' to them.... Wink

Hello Sven,
Your colleague is wrong. BB does not work properly with Cubase on an IntelMac as it is PPC based software. There are intermittent ASIO spikes that cause skips during playback, making BB on an IntelMac unusable in any real-world work situation.

As far as trying before buying goes, BB worked great on my G5, but that machine died and I had to move on to a MacPro. Potential buyers with IntelMacs beware!

BB was a great achievement, and I'm sure it was a lot of hard work to create, but unfortunately, for some reason your programmers are not keeping up with the times.

Please don't accuse my colleague of lying. If he says BB rocks on his machine, it does. He uses a quite ordinary little Mac Mini with an Intel processor.

Well I guess it's all fixed then.
I'm not interested in arguing.
I said that they were wrong, not lying. There's a big difference.
