something ive been messing around with for about 2 weeks..tho mostly its been a struggle..my old machine isnt up to much these days, so its quite frustrating to have to render stuff, and wait 15 mins for a song to load....oh the shame HiHi

anyway, i kinda lost interest in finishing it, mainly due to not having much time to myself on the pc, slow machine, and finally getting a nasty intruder on my pc Rolling Eyes

so heres my dabbling...made with just Alchemy, using my own presets/sample (with Orions DrumRack doing the standard backbeat duties)

http://www.box.net/shared/ppbaqh1ei7

i think the fade in/out gives the game away about me losing my mojo HiHi

Actually, no. It's got a dark vibe to it that I like. The bass sound is a really good sound for all the other parts to float around. One lead sound was a bit annoying to me but it was only there occasionally. I haven't had time to explore Alchemy like you have so it is good to hear what it can do. And this makes me glad I bought it.

Here's a song I wrote, inspired by Alchemy!! (a love song for a synth... somebody call a doctor...!)

www.myspace.com/ekocentrik

Everything is Alchemy (tweaked presets and some vocal manipulation) except for the drum loop (a sample), one cymbal crash from Battery, and of course, my vox.

Any feedback / comments gratefully recieved!

Cheers

Sarah

Here is a piece in memory of my Brothers wife 'Ann Conrardy" who passed away today from a 3 year fight with cancer. To help me deal with it, I did this song. It has elements of everything she liked: SantaCruz beach, Washington state rain and water sounds from my parent's pond, plus kid sounds and an uptempo Rock and Roll section.

Instruments were PianoTek for the piano, Guitar effected with CamelSpace and the rest is Alchemy (including the drums and samples)

Sad news, condolences Tim.

Nice tune. Lots of parts.

Thanks for being here, Tim. Your work with Algo and Camel adds a lot to my appreciation of music and the ways to make it.

Condolences to you, + your brother + all your family, Tim.

Very sad news.

Thanks for sharing it with us. Very nice intro.

Thanks for all the good thoughts!

Some more tech details: Since I helped create the Alchemy Sample library, I actually use the library sometimes 'as is' : like a sample library, and just drop the actual samples into a track in Tracktion, and adjust it. Its actually been my 'go to' library for the past few years as it was developing. I would suggest Alchemy users to try it, as we have a lot sound effects, ambiances, drum loops and such just ready for 'dropping ' . Of course, you can load them into alchemy and twist them, but you can also use them 'as is'too. This was how the ocean, and water sounds, as well as the female vocals were done. Even the Harp is a glissando in the sample library as well. the kids sounds is in Vocals and is actually a kit you can load, but the individual samples are too.

The sounds played live from Alchemy were the bass, strings ( 2 kinds) and the drums. My Bisceglia Electric Guitar was processed with CamelSpace. I Started with PianoTek developing the chords and melody( as i like it for a piano instrument)so I kept it in, although I could have used the Alchemy Piano

Thanks for your comments
