I really need something that's intuitive, sounds good and has versatility. I was looking at Automaton. Has anyone used it to glitch out vocals. Can you set up simple glitch parameters with relative ease? Any other suggestions either payware, or freeware?

my (sorry) sandh is interesting on vocals.

it captures one wavecycle and repeats it at it's fundamental frequency until the next clock pulse, like audio sample and hold.

because voice is usually at a narrow bandwidth of fundamentals, it's more of a discrete effect on voice than it would be on something with chaotic fundamental pitch like drums.

fade it in and out, change the rate, freezy people :p
you come and go, you come and go. amitabha neither a follower nor a leader be tagore "where roads are made i lose my way" where there is certainty, consideration is absent.

You could try BeatBurner, previously payware - now freeware.

It's a vsti so you'd have to cut up your vocal track into pieces to load into the plugin in its 10 Sample Slots. I'm not sure if there is a max sample length for the slots so maybe you could load a whole vocal track. I've tried it on various loops and it does what it says.

vocals or not, it will glitch:)

i never understood Automation. too expermential interface for me.
but you can use Discord 2 and set to ver short delay (30-40ms) with pitch shifting and maybe also some modulation on the filter.
i havent tried big seq 2 yet, but from what im reading you can also use that to make things glitch.

A bit off topic but Korg Kaoss Pad 2/3 both have great stutter/glitch effects for vocals and everything else. That would be your h/w option.

Ctrl+C then Ctrl+V, rinse and repeat.

That's what I do or if you wanna get really fancy, Ctrl+D (or apple+D for us Mactards).
