trying to make a chill/downtempo track, but it doesn't quite work out, any ideas?

yeah, maybe I should cut the the shaker to about half in volume after it kicks in. What does half-timing mean?

"Pedestrian", in critical terms, doesn't mean "walking".
(edit: I like the choice of words labelling the rhythm as pedestrian, as I often think of rhytms in the pace of walk, myself) It means, "everyday fare", "doesn't stand out". "Doesn't get anywhere". A four/four beat where nothing outstanding happens, = a 'pedestrian beat'. It doesn't mean anything good really. |
